Biography

This name is based on the quote, which is always some variation of "Death shall come on swift wings to him that toucheth the tomb of the Pharaoh", which is reported to have been found in King Tut's tomb. I've heard it was on a wall at the entrance, I've heard it was on a clay tablet; Howard Carter insisted it never existed, and I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that some newspaper reporter later admitted that they made it up, but of course I can't find that information now. Either way, it was used in movies like The Curse of King Tut's Tomb (1980) and, most famously, in The Mummy (1999), where it was changed to "Death will come on swift wings to whomsoever opens this chest." That movie expands it further to add: "There is one, the undead, who, if brought back to life, is bound by sacred law to consummate this curse. He will kill all who open this chest and assimilate their organs and fluids, and in so doing, he will regenerate, and no longer be the undead, but a plague upon this Earth."
