Biography
Batai
The Chamber of Sacrifice in not canon to either Batai or Cordenth's storyline. It exists in an AU. It was a really good RP I did in 2014/2015. The thread is here. It was horror themed with several dragons being stuck in a chamber and having to figure out their way out by moving through those chambers one by one, with numbers on their chest representing their lives (My RPing wasn't the best but I had fun). There was a Mirror in the group named Evo who changed Batai's mind on the idea that Mirrors can't be trusted.
In the end, it turned out everyone was alive in the real world and they all got a chance to go home (except for an imperial that unknowingly gave up her chance.) There was a catch though. They were caught between life and death. Batai, believing he'd accidentally killed Cordenth in a fit of rage, killed himself, and then Cordenth woke up moments later and did the same (They went in the way of Romeo and Juliet, I was told). They could return to the real world, but they couldn't be together. They could only be together if they remained in the chamber.
Cordenth made the hard decision to go back to the real world while Batai decided to stay in the chamber to become a guardian and help others through in the future. They hugged each other and exchanged their neck bows, allowing themselves to keep one memento of each other. (That's why Batai has the Maroon bow and Cordenth has the Yellow one.)
There was a sequel thread that eventually died, and later I made an attempt to revisit the premise, but with the idea that the old Puzzlemaster that was in charge of the chamber died or vanished or something, and Batai stepped up to take his place.
That's where he gets his unusual outfit. It that AU he drapes himself in Maroon to remind him of his lost lover and he dawns a mask and hat to fit the Puzzlemaster role and hide his true feelings. The chest bandage covers his old wound that led to him being in the chamber in the first place.
Also, his son Tamiyo the Coatl is a reference to the little Fae named Tamiyo in the original Chamber of Sacrifice RP.
Thanks for reading the synopsis for this silly little RP I did so long ago that still sticks with me!

(To be edited) Batai is as smart as any dragon, but he's more likely to show off his coat more than his smarts, thinking that women (and men) will always chose a good looking Cotl over an intelligent one. When he's not going after other dragons, he spends time in his cave, reading books borrowed from Violet. He's proud of his coat and is willing to fight anyone who says that the colors clash or that it hurts their eyes. He caught the attention of Kuroshiro once by "defending her honor" as he put it. A Dragon from a rival clan had snapped an insult at her and Batai immediately jumped to her defense, hissing and flaring his wings to show how fearsome he can be. Ultimately, however, the one he ended up loving the most was Cordenth. The Red Cotl had been driven out of his old clan because he changed his gender, and many were accusing him of not having the natural gender that the dieties thought he should have. Batai came across him, battered and exausted, on the side of a pathway. He took the other to see Aide, the clan's medical dragon. After Aide had declared that he just needed to rest and recover, Batai got the chance to talk to him alone. He was welcomed to the clan and showed around by Batai, who even offered to share his home with the other until he could make one himself. Over time, their relationship grew slowly and steadily. Batai continued womanizing (and flirting with men too) even when the two were together. Cordenth had no complaint, because he knew that Batai loved children and wanted to bring many of them into the world. He even has a fun time playing "uncle" too some of Batai's many famillies. He eventually stopped, making the excuse that he's had enough kids, and settles down with Cordenth, happy to live contently with his love by his side. |
