Biography

Hi baby welcome home <3

How strange it was to wake up amongst a bed of flowers under the putrid skies of the Scarred Wasteland. The dragon blinked their eyes, rising from the dandelions as if they’d casually woken up from a nice night of sleep. The well of power within, the gap in their memories, and the distinct feeling they weren’t whole somehow spoke differently.

While the dragon themself didn’t know, they had grown out of a violent confrontation between an unknown Shade Hunter and Adam, leader of the cult of Cenotaph. While the warrior fought valiantly, and Adam’s blood reddened the sands, he would not die. Whatever limb and claw was scattered would simply grow back. Undying and unbending. What remained lain on the sands rained a life of his own.

And thus, the dragon finds themself in a field of dandelions, sent to wander to find their own name and destiny.

Waking up, knowing she was missing something...like a hazy fog had replaced memories she tried so hard to remember, though they weren't hers to remember. Not anymore. Those memories belonged to another, someone she felt she knew but could never put a face to. She naively wandered around, unsure of everything around her.

It was a mistake she would never forget nor ever make again.

~ ~ ~

Her first experience upon waking would twist her forever into something unpure and unclean.

~ ~ ~

In the Scarred Wastelands any who were trailed by the scent of flowers would surely draw attention, and certainly nothing good would come of it...but she knew not of the danger to her. It wasn't long before the stench of festering rot hid the flowery scent trail she left yet she wandered on curiously. Unfazed by the strange way that things seemed to grow darker around her suddenly or the fact that it seemed that there was no sign of life for miles.

It wasn't until she was right upon them that she realized her error.

Lunging out from under large piles of carrion, a pack of savage and plague ridden things ambushed the wanderer.

~ ~ ~

The plagued beasts realized their folly quickly and yet all too late to save them.

~ ~ ~

A single bite. A single second.

Forever changed the way things should have been.

...and she slaughtered them all.

She felt the pain and looked at her attackers in confusion, something black and thick as tar seeped from the bite wound. The one who's bite was worse than their bark fell dead as if poisoned then in a heartbeat the wanderer let out a sound that should not be heard, not then and not ever.

It was over in moments but the damage had already been done. Wandering away from the mess of gore and quickly getting lost she began to notice changes...her body grew hot and she soon realized it was near impossible to curb her hunger. Her wound had healed too quickly and her senses were sharper but wherever she went death seemed to follow.

~ ~ ~

Disturbed by yet curious of her newfound condition she found her calling after months of study.

~ ~ ~

Taking great interest in the disease that seemed to transfer to her upon being bitten she began to conduct tests on herself to learn more about it. Why had it seemed the one who bit her had no mind of it's own? Why hadn't she been affected in the same way?

~ ~ ~

The essence of the shade that kept her from going insane laid dormant, watching through her eyes as she learned and grew.

~ ~ ~

Years flew by and unbeknownst to her a clan of shadows formed their home around her. So absorbed in her studies she hardly noticed when someone wandered past her and the clan knowingly avoided her as they carried on their lives.

Eventually she discovered her origins as a shade-born but decided it was not as interesting as her sickness.

Over time she discovered many ways to replicate and even alter her sickness, using small prey animals as test subjects at first...then beginning to do trials on dragons who made the mistake to cross the clan whose territory she resided in.

She was the disease bringer, sickness bearer...a plague doctor and a subtle protector of the clan she lived with. She left cures to mystery illnesses that aflicted the clan using the darkness as her cover. The clan's leader made sure she was given rewards for her help as he seemed to know when she was the one to help them despite never seeing her do so.

She grew comfortable there and eventually took to a name that many of the surrounding clan's members referred to her by, Pestariaal. In time she began to feel rather close to them...and so she stays.

~ ~ ~

May the deities forgive the poor soul who may dare to harm her now...armed with a mutated and genetically altered version of her disease that she fused with the essence of the shade in her blood, death would be a blessing to any she feels forced to use it on.

~ ~ ~

She seems rather peaceful, hiding her work from those around her...she has sworn to herself she would never act in rage or fear again, never kill again unless absolutely necessary. She wanted to help, to heal. She wasn't unprepared for such things however, as she well knew things could go wrong in mere seconds.
