Biography
Lemongrass Springshade-Wildclove
(She/her)
BACKGROUND:
Lemongrass was born to Pietra and Wildebeast Springshade and spent most of her young life in the Blackout Nursery with her sister, Aloevera. When she wasn't in the nursery, she spent time around Primrose and helped her with her healing duties. This led her to be interested in becoming a healer herself, however, as she got older, she learned about more in-depth healing. Surgery is what she became particularly interested in. Primrose wasn't able to teach her much about it- as that wasn't the type of healing she did. Because of this, she decided to study it herself through books and by traveling and visiting other doctors in the Viridian Labyrinth.
After doing plenty of research, she was able to begin doing surgery herself and had officially become known as a traveling doctor. However, she didn't have too many patients to begin with until one day. While helping a dragon deliver eggs in a clan residing in the Pox Consulate, she came across Wennoc, a plague-born mirror dragon. Wennoc had been born with a birth defect that caused him to have thick, tough muscle on the outside of his skin. Because of this, he had rough scabby wings that couldn't serve their purpose. Lemongrass decided to invite him to the Wildclove Clan to be her first patient. To the surprise of most of the clan, her very first surgery was a success. Wennoc's faulty wings had been reconstructed with a durable tarp.
Spending time with her patient, she learned about the healing practices of the plague flight that had failed Wennoc in the first place. She was repulsed to hear that many ill dragons were left with their infections to fester until they either died or got better. She personally found this to be negligent and irresponsible. She actually confronted Pestilence about it with a barrage of questions. Pestilence warned the young doctor that she was sticking her nose somewhere it shouldn't be. Lemongrass ignored her warnings and began what she referred to as the Plague Project in the infirmary den: where she wants to help plague dragons that have been 'failed' by their own clans. Several members of the Wildclove Clan fear that Lemongrass' patient stealing is going to result in bloody conflict, Primrose included.
CHILDREN:
One day while she was traveling in the Scarred Wasteland, she came across a plague-born coatl hatchling. She sensed something odd about the young dragon, and decided to adopt him as her own. After some harmless testing, she discovered that he was somehow cursed to grow mold on his wings and scales. She decided to name him Aspergillus because of his condition. Thrilled to have a new subject, Lemongrass began her new study case.
Her second adopted son is Percival, a small lump of flesh resembling that of a nocturne dragon. Before Percival became a living being, he was a piece of infected flesh that Lemongrass was doing tests on. That morsel belonged to a patient who once lived in Quarantine Zone #128 but now resides in the Gladeveins. She had discovered signs of life in the little lump when it had slightly moved from its original resting position and then began to pulsate as though it was breathing. With some (likely unethical) tampering, she was eventually able to bring life to the chunk that she now refers to as her son.
OUTPOSTS AND TRAVEL:
Lemongrass often visits several medical outposts throughout the Viridian Labyrinth. Her most frequented one is located near the Pox Consulate and is run by Oddball: a plague-born mirror dragon trained by Lemongrass herself, alongside her family. Aspergillus also enjoys traveling to this outpost and delivers supplies back and fourth.
