"Prototype Foxtrot version Beta."

"What breed of dragon are you?"

"I am a Gaoler."

"Where do I return you to?"

"Floecall Fortress, address 512 Frosttangle Center."

"What is your name?"

"I do not have one."

Time passes.

The prototype rests barely used joints in a station. The station has stood for years. The prototype has been here all along, but not every dragon registered in his database has.

"The time is 05:16," he says, when asked. The prototype does not ask why he does not move even though all of his siblings do. He notices this, however.

Though meant to see and catalogue the world, he does not move. That is, until one evening, where he is moved one last time.

The sea is deep. Blue light shines from above, illuminating large groups of fish swimming past his cameras. Cool water and flowering algae have long eroded the joints that used to walk. Synthetic hair has been stolen by the drift of the water.

The prototype says to nobody, many times, in a voice drowned out by waves and water,

"please return me to Floecall Fortress, Bluejay Mechanics Facility, address 512 Frosttangle Center,"

but, eventually, he stops asking.
