She found a lamp in a hidden cave. A simple rub of the intricately patterned side, and she was given three wishes—a well-known scenario, despite its rarity. The first two wishes were used so quickly that one could even say they were wasted. Money and sweets filled her cavern by the end of the day, but she wasn’t happy.

Her third wish was for happiness.

Sure enough, she started enjoying everything she did. Food tasted amazing. Everything was fun. After a week or two, she couldn’t feel anything other than joy. No sadness, no fear, no anger.

No guilt.

She had no qualms about hurting others. Punishments meant nothing to her. Before long, she had to be kept in isolation for the sake of everyone’s safety.

One can still walk past her locked door and hear her hysterical laughter.
