현재 그림자 세계에 군림한 가짜 왕이 막 왕좌에 올랐을 무렵에는, 그의 주변에 살아 있는 것이라고는 아무것도 없었다. 몇은 진짜 왕의 어린 아들, 그림자의 계승자를 데리고 도망쳤으며, 나머지는 그가 손수 죽여 없앴기 때문이다. 왕은 사악했지만 외로웠고, 그래서 정령의 땅에 침입해 허공을 거닐던 바람의 정령 하나를 납치하는 데 성공했다. 그는 오랜 시간, 공을 들여 그 바람을 고문하고 개조했으며 끝내는 자신의 친구이자 반려, 사역마로 만드는 데에 성공을 거두었다. 그녀의 검보다 더 빠른 것은 없었고, 그녀보다 더 조용히 움직이는 존재도 없었다. 노을과 함께 그녀의 맑은 눈은 보랏빛으로 물들고 그녀는 망설임없이 왕의 명령을 수행했다.

그리고 아이러니하게도 그녀는 왕을 미워하지 않았다. 왕이 내심 그녀가 언젠가는 자신의 구속을 떨치지 않을까 걱정하는 왕과는 달리 그녀는 왕의 절망과 괴로움을 이해했으며, 그에 대한 동정과 연민으로 묵묵히 그를 따랐다. 그녀는 때때로 왕은 마치 있는 힘을 다해 떼를 쓰는 어린아이같다고 생각하지만, 그 말을 입 밖으로 내지는 않는다. 다만 오늘 밤에도 묵묵히 그녀의 어린 왕을 위해 칼을 휘두를 뿐.
