Entirely nocturnal, Gillian has adjusted his schedule to maximize his time available to do the one thing he loves most: stargazing. His father’s obsession with the exosphere inspired Gillian’s own, and the Ridgeback can seldom be found doing anything that doesn’t revolve around the night sky. He often channels his love of constellations into elaborate paintings, many of which end up as part of enormous murals that cover the outside of his den (and any other large rock face he can find).

At a very young age, Gillian left home to join a clan in the Tangled Wood, certain that the darkness of the Shadowbinder’s realm would offer the best nighttime viewing. While he occasionally teaches astronomy classes for more studious clan members, Gillian is otherwise a very solitary dragon, preferring the company of stars to dragonkind.
