Clarence Percy, Percy Clarence, Clarence or Percy, it's all relative: what he's called depends on who is doing the calling, but either name is agreeable to him.
He is a librarian, a mage, a scholar, and a full-time academic, but perhaps his most notable quality is that of a book enthusiast. He often burns the midnight oil researching for pleasure, and his extensive, almost encyclopedic knowledge of the royal library and its contents is what he's got to show for it.
He is exceptionally close with his younger sister, Lily Rose (just Lily Rose. Unlike her brother, she's got one name and one name only). She is bright and brilliant, hungry to learn and strategize, and Clarence is more than happy to help her along.

It's a chance encounter that brings them together for the first time. Clarence, reshelving books in the dusty part of the old library, alone save for scattered parchments and worn tomes. A knight happening upon him, lost, looking for a certain book on the tales of heroic exploits past. Him, plain, bookish, and her, shining in her armor, the most lovely shade of lilac he’s ever seen. "Can I have your name?" he asks. "For-- for the book. To check out." His ears color scarlet and he hopes he doesn't come across half so foolish as he feels. She tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear and smiles. Clarence thinks he might want to see that smile forever. "Astrid." |
