Biography

Her chances were slim but she couldn't let that stop her. It was escape or death, and she wasn't ready to die.

In the farthest reaches of the ice caps under the Icewarden’s domain, dragons reside held secret and away from the general audience of other dragon kind. Whispers carry on the wind of this secret place; a place where dragons are held captive and bred in search for specialty markings for others, sold to them as young hatchlings for exuberant amounts.

The barren walls of the facility was nothing new for this young dragon. Even as a young hatchling, the time she spent with her mother warned her, wordlessly, of the dangers she would one day face. There were others like Otulissa. Different markings and colors of all kinds but still as different and sought after as she was. Rumors spread quickly about her looks, the owl-like resemblance she held. The delicate and yet fierce look about her quickly held her higher than most, and her own price to who would have bought her rose incredibly. Yet, those such people wouldn’t have had a chance to keep her.

Her mother had taught Otulissa how to protect herself and constantly told the young hatchling to be ready to run when the moment came. Being so little, she had little idea what her mother meant by those words - at least, until they were being transferred. Having become more independent from her mother, she became held in chains and shackles like many of the other adults the facility held. Her transfers were the only time she had some sense of freedom, a taste to move about and spread her wings. She didn’t expect her mother’s sudden yelp at her to happen so suddenly, but the moment the frigid air touched her skin, her mother cried out to Otulissa. Without hesitation, she spread her wings and lifted herself into the air still burdened with the chains around her. Snow kicked up with each downbeat of her wings, blinding those below with the white crystals, as she heard her mother struggle to keep their captors from following. With heart racing and breath short, Otulissa stole a glance behind her to watch her mother be dragged back inside. Sorrow and fear filling her, she blinked the tears from her eyes and pushed forward through the cold biting unforgivingly at her wings in search of safety.
