"Everything is connected by the roots of the earth"

Braken always had a green thumb. Born on the edge of the Windswept Plateau and the Sea of a Thousand currents, she found solace in the wild terrarium of mixed plants found at her feet. The combination of wind's arid climate with the humidity coming off the sea created a micro climate of fantastical creations. Braken adored getting lost in the bush here, perusing the tall plants, discovering little animals and finding her way through many adventures of her own invention.

What dragons who watched her from the outside saw was an innocent hatchling frolicking in the leaves, but what Braken was actually doing was communicating with the plants. With her feet firmly planted into the soil she could speak to the plants that surrounded her through their roots, creating a network of interconnected voices which allowed her to learn and cater to each plant's individual needs. She knew when to give them water, or when they needed fertilizer, when they were under attack from predators, and when they were suffering from an ailment.

Because of this, Braken grew up to become a renowned herbalist and gardener. Her botanical gardens, located a little out of town from the coastal port of Bridgecourt were famous and many dragons vacationed there on their honeymoons. Part of the gardens are made up of fruit bearing plants which she harvests and brings to town for the inn and it's kitchen. Braken regularly takes on apprentices, teaching dragons about the importance of respecting their environment and how to promote plant growth to have them go off and take care of their own gardens elsewhere in the world.
Braken never saw herself settling down with another dragon, much less with one who would trample into her garden without a care in the world, yet, something about the lumbering Caspian made her pause. Perhaps it was the way he so sincerely asked if he could help or the fact that he hadn't shed any blood in her fields to chase away the problem teens of the local harpy roosts, but something seemed different about him.

For months she watched him stand every day, dead center in the garden. He looked like a scarecrow in her field, and acted like one too. Just a few weeks into him sitting there, other dragons and beastclan alike had ceased stealing from her and life had been peaceful. He had picked up every random fact she had thrown at him and the frequent hatchling visitors loved testing him with trivia questions he could answer in glee. The whole garden seemed to thrive with him there.

And so she let him stay, and she let him into her heart. They were inseperable in a way Braken had never felt for another dragon in her life before. Plants, sure, but another dragon had always seemed so unlikely. Still, she would find herself sitting on the cliffs overlooking the Sea of a Thousand Currents every night leaning into his shoulder and thinking how much she truly loved every minute of being in his presence.
