The child of two hardened sellswords often grows up with a rather mercenary approach to life, and the hatchlings of Revel and Jest are no exception. Not all of their offspring are drawn by the cold lure of treasure, but no matter their motivation, they pursue it with a single-minded devotion that other dragons find disconcerting.

With a power-hungry mage for a mother and a subservient spy for a father, these hatchlings are well-versed in manipulation and conspiracy. Some pursue it with skilled shadow-magery, some with subtle subterfuge, but nearly all are willing to employ unscrupulous methods in pursuit of their goal.

The most magically talented of her clutch, and the only one of her siblings so far to inherit her mother’s illusion magic, Jest had great hopes for Madalena and took special interest in tutoring her as she grew. Madalena, however, had absolutely no interest in the mercenary life of her parents, no desire to hone her magic into the sharpened blade it could be, and no joy in the endless magical theory Jest attempted to drill her in. While her mother uses their shared illusion magic to confuse and frighten enemies on the battlefield, Madalena just wants to play pranks. She wants to watch dragons sit on non-existent chairs, jump at illusory noises, and laugh at funny, floating faces. She’s thinking she’ll run away and join the circus. Or something - anything to be away from her mother.
