The Kaleidoscope Reef

Sequestered off in it's own tropic bubble of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, the Kaleidoscope Reef is known as a haven for oceanic life, to those who know of it at all.
Vibrant with every colour of fish and coral, the biodiversity of the reef is incredible, and carefully tended to. The Kaleidoscope Reef's keepers protect the shimmering, translucent waters with wards and powerful water magics. Species which may not usually thrive in such an environment take well to the reef's waters even.

Manoa Lai wasn't born was one of the Reef Tenders for the Kaleidoscope, instead he came from outside, brought by his own ferved curiousity and rumour. He's lived there ever since, on one of the few small isles which dott the ocean the reef lies in. Studying the endemic life and catalouging the corals and their upkeep, he's more than an experience, cheerful face to the other Reef Tenders. Manoa Lai took quickly to learning the wards, and other magics of the Reef, and whilst not the most senior member by a longshot, he's certainly garnered plenty of respect.
Life at Kaleidoscope brings little strife, days are more often spent enjoying the sunshine and frolicking with the sealife. It's a very peaceful existence, and definitely more than reflected in Manoa Lai's laidback and jovial attitude.

Gatama is also named after a location from Endless Ocean, Gatama Atoll.
