Starter/Main Character
61/200 Stress Recently participated in a Pep Talk: 2 days One among the brand new Obelisk dragon breed, Daedalon recently broke out of her Stoneshape to find herself in a colourful new world. With Earthshaker's words still echoing in her mind she was quickly grabbed by the Wind element she was imbued with, taking off to explore this new land with burning curiosity. Something pulled her towards the Windswept Plateau. Maybe it was instinct. Maybe it was the call of her element. Maybe... it was something else entirely. Whatever the case Daedalon found herself stood gawping up at the grand Aergate, the ancient structure revitalised from olden times to aid one of catastrophe. It was here that she met Diaemus. The Imperial appeared kindly, offering the Obelisk a place in his lair of Squallwatch, built upon a large hill overlooking the Aergate and using the remains of an old, forgotten civilisation. Grateful, Daedalon accepted this offer in return for acting as Diaemus' attendant, responding when he called to do whatever he needed doing and otherwise having the freedom to explore at her leisure. Attendant, it turned out, was more of a loose term than a true role, as most of her "duties" involved simply being present alongside the Master of Squallwatch. This made her uncomfortable and many of the townsfolk began referring to her as "the Master's Pet" because of the way he seemed to flaunt her like some best-in-show familiar. Beyond this there were actual chores to be done, which she performed eagerly to impress him. During her stay in Squallwatch Daedalon managed to befriend the somewhat grumpy old captain of the lair's guard, a grey and purple Skydancer by the name of Reynauld, and the roguish Dismas, a red and near-black Pearlcatcher. Despite their opposites the pair were somehow great friends already, with the latter's antics giving the former something to do in this sleepy settlement. However, ever since she arrived Daedalon has had a niggling sensation in the back of her mind telling her something was off about this place. Unable to determine the cause however she simply took life day by day. With the arrival of Musard and Dismas' sudden outburst about secret vaults beneath the castle she and Diaemus lived in the sensation began to steadily grow worse. Starting with the disastrous loss of Dismas and Musard's clutch and strange behaviour cropping up within the guard's ranks Daedalon needed time to escape and get her mind together. Too long had she been holed up in Squallwatch Keep, she realised. Every time she'd left to explore Diaemus would call her back with the use of an enchanted bell and should he leave for any length of time she was not to leave the lair. It was getting stifling. Daedalon had witness an odd procession alongside Reynauld as a group of his guards had gone against his orders and were spotted taking the previous advisor, Eudoxia, before Diaemus and overhearing his own order to have her locked away after she accused him of stealing eggs and children. Including her own. Reynauld agreed to speak with the Master on this matter... but he has yet to come back. While waiting, and in a bid to have time to herself, the Obelisk found herself back at the Aergate where, while she had a great time experiencing its powerful magic with the help of a local Spiral, she had stumbled across a concerning but indescribable entity within the stone. Even after the exhilaration she found herself cold, paranoid and confused. |
