Biography

Ammonite is one of the clan's representatives for dragon's living in the open area districts. Essentially this includes places where lots of sun light can actually hit like the Gardens, meadows, cliffside, and most of the open tree huts (there are treehouses within the main area of the clan but if you don't get a lot of light and it looks like nighttime then Helena is your representative). Just remember if I can see the sun then I talk to Ammonite, if I use torches to see I talk to Helena (it is also helpful that their elements align so perfectly -Esme's is a tad vaguer).

Ammonite's daily schedule is organizing the clan's priority tasks that need to be done in her district as well as scheduling meetings with the dragons in the district to discuss wanted improvements or upcoming changes as well as their status. For example, if there is going to be great weather, Ammonite would discuss with the district either via meetings or messages pinned to bulletin boards in main areas. Also, bad weather like heavy rains or thunderstorms can also be tied to activities that should or shouldn't be open that day- for example no parkour during a thunderstorm.

Of course, not all messages are about weather, there are some messages about clubs or guilds looking for new members as well as activities going on within the area- one just happens to be parkour. Another activity also includes picnics or the Forget-Me-Notes troupe that moves around from time to time. The Festive Flowers also host egg hunts (not dragon eggs- not that burden again) as well as which of the Gardens are having deals on flowers as well as contest to see whose roses are the best. There are also honeycombs sold by the Gardeners which is also announced since well that clan debate (see Snickers page) but to sum up you are either a yellow honeycomb eater or a blue honeycomb eater and GladeKeeper forgive if you dislike both.

Also, part of Ammonite's job is also to talk with the other representatives before meeting with Naomi who will then take their reports to the Guilds for them and manages making sure they all get done in a scheduled order. Of course, Naomi may add some changes to their report but often those deal with timeline changes or if not, all residents have unanimously decided on a change- to which he usually will go deal with compromises that the guilds advise him on which then results in him telling the representatives to schedule meetings discussing a list of compromises while making sure other unanimous actions get done by the guilds. It's a whole lot to do especially with such a large and spread-out clan. A nice thing Naomi while also do, is let the Obelisks have two days of the month off (once every two weeks) just to spend with their mates or to enjoy some of the activities that they help schedule and announce. This is much appreciated by the obelisk dragons as it also gives them time to form some culture of their own being that they are the newest of species made by the Earthshaker himself. This usually allows time for Ammonite to spend with Petoskey as well as the other Obelisks

. Often Ammonite and Petoskey love to spend time in the meadows where the flowers are a mix of wild and those cared for by the Gardeners. They love to spend time soaking in the sun and taking naps in their statue forms as well as collecting shells and other pretty items by the seashore to bring back to their lair which is very much like an open tree house where the walls are merely vines or branches letting in much sun and the roof and floors are woven. They also form a little nest like area for their statue forms that is filled with soft flooring (don't want that statue form getting scuffed). The tree they live in is very twisted in a spiral pattern and has ladder rungs in the side to climb up with a small path going up to it. Petoskey and Ammonite both love bringing sand for their path to place their collected shells and trinkets on and their dens are quite beautiful especially since the lair doesn't need to be well shieling for rain especially since Petoskey's powers as well as they can just sleep in their statue forms. As long as the manes don't get wet, we are all good.

With the other Obelisks, Ammonite loves to sing chanties with them as well as write some lyrics or poems in her spare time Of course I love to read some of her poems just as much as I love to hear her and the other obelisks sing them-I'm quite the musician myself but enough about me (Tamako) which always ends up becoming quite an echoing symphony of harmonious music since well they harmonize quite well too. Out of all the Obelisks, Ammonite is above far from the most kind which also comes from her powers. Ammonite can expel a large amount of controlled light radiation for her that she recharges from the sun that she can also direct and store in objects. For example, Ammonite can light up a whole room with her power and it would still stay lit for quite a long time before returning to normal. At most she manages a week of light before it fades out completely though this is also due to her power remaining active for a little while even when she isn't actively brightening up a room. Though it is on small scales that she is especially a clan favorite.

While doing her rounds one day, Ammonite bumped into Flamebloom who was practicing glassware though had discarded some of his "deemed failure" glassware. As Ammonite asked about how he was doing, she out of curiosity used her power on the orb only for it to hold light surprisingly well. Flamebloom had become quite curious at the orb she lite up and came up with an idea (a light bulb if I must both be literally while making a pun). It was also notably that the orbs often have a tendency to float since their full of light (get it they are light-okay for the sake of light dragons I'll stop). As such, Flamebloom has continued to make these light orbs for Ammonite to use her powers on and in return Ammonite offers them at meetings as well as letting everyone know about Flamebloom's other glasswork projects so that he can also get some extra business out of it. This also allows more dragons to stay up at night especially in the dark forests and for many fun nighttime events to be held. When the light does eventually run out (usually a solid month), dragons know to simply return the orbs to Ammonite as she can simply relight them for more uses (we like to stay green- recycling/ Nature dragon joke- I can say that since I am a Nature dragon).

Ammonite also loves to light up the pathways to her house with these orbs and it general doesn't take too much energy to relight them. Though for the many hundreds that get sent to her in a designated spot behind her house, she often sets aside one day- usually the day after meetings to relight them so that she can recharge while doing paperwork. Ammonite also recharges herself by doing work outside in the sun as the warm rays of light are a kind welcome to any light dragon. Petoskey also enjoys basking in the sun next to her while going about his job. Often, he brings her snacks from Scarlett's place or flowers to even some of Ammonites favorite short story books. There is little Petoskey won't bring as often he loves sharing his favorite things of the day and he is absolutely in love with just about everything he sees. Knowing about everything thanks to the Earthshaker is one thing but seeing it is a whole other story that Petoskey loves to share with Ammonite. It also brightens Ammonite's Day too especially since she loves small breaks from work (and not because I was making an unintentional light dragon joke- I mean I said I was done making those- at least until we get another light dragon in the clan- oh look Benji).
