Deadra

Deadra shouldn’t be here. He was not invited to the Death Quarter, Thanos would like to have nothing to do with him. Yet there is no better place for him.

The battlefield has always been where Deadra thrived. The once an honorable and renowned warrior is barely recognizable to those who knew him. The bloodlust has long taken over his mind.

In another life, Deadra was called upon by the people for blessing in a near impossible war. A small nation, under attack, and desperate to survive. Moved by their plight, Deadra joined them and turned the tide against impossible odds. The people may have kept their relative freedom but lost their guiding light. Deadra exerted his power too far, breaking his mind and becoming a shell only looking for the next kill.

Or had he? He is still quite aware of his surroundings and a shrewd tactician besides. Not at all the symptoms of a mad man. Perhaps it’s easier to say that a great man went mad than to say their hero enjoys their wars, their blood, their deaths.

Death is no stranger to a battlefield and someone has to tend to them. If Deadra is going to be on the field regardless, the least he could do is act as a Death Quarter proxy while he’s there.
