Jahan

Like all fossil dragons, Jahan lost his life during a war between rivaling Earth clans, and was revived by an amateur necromancer by accident. He had been buried in a sacred ground with other warriors who had fallen in battle, and upon resurrection he found himself controlling an old rotting body that had been smited by war. Jahan was more confused by this than anything else. He thought of the family he had left behind when he was alive and hoped to reunite with them. Unfortunately, Jahan's mate and children had left the Earth domain after the war ended, consumed by grief at the loss of their father and mate. As hard as Jahan searched, he was unable to find them. Confronted with this despair and loneliness, he wasn't sure what to make of this new opportunity at life stuck in a relic of a body. Eventually he found his way to Arscham, whose scholars study the effect of necromancer magic upon him. While some might find being an object of study to be demeaning, Jahan actually enjoys having a purpose that he thinks he would otherwise never find, and relishes in sharing old war stories and tales of the old world with his ever curious clanmates.
Jahan is a word of Persian origin meaning "my world" or "my universe"

A long long time ago in the rough lands of Dragonhome, there lived a happy young dragon couple who had three healthy and energetic hatchlings. They lived a peaceful and carefree life, until one day, a war between rivaling dragon clans broke out and the young male had to take part to protect their clan, while the young female had to stay and take care of their children. Weeks turned into months as the war waged, and their clan grew hungrier and weaker with every passing day as their clan's food storage started to run empty. Hatchlings started dying of starvation and diseases, including two of the young female's children. As there seemed to be no ending to this outrageous war, Earthshaker himself came to stop them, and so finally their struggle ended with the rivaling clan being banished to the outskirts of Dragonhome for waging a war towards their own flight members. As the males of the clan started coming back, injured and beaten, the young female restlessly waited her beloved to come back.

... But he never came back by himself... Instead, his lifeless body was brought back with several others for their loved ones to say their final goodbyes before taking them to their final resting place to the ancient burial grounds of Cairnstone Rest. The young female was devastated, as this pointless war had taken her loved one and her two children.

With only sorrow and darkness in her heart, she decided to find a way to bring her loved ones back again. She travelled across the Sornieth with her only living child next to her, as she journeyed from landscape to another seeking answers to how she could bring dead back to life. And after a year of searching she finally found answers and with this knowledge she had gained, she ventured back to Dragonhome and headed towards Cairnstone Rest to seek out her dead husband and children. But as she digged deeper and deeper into the soil, she didn't realize how much she had disturbed all the other ancient souls resting there. Ancient powerful spirits started to gather around her and her child, as they digged deeper, and as they finally found their beloved family members, the air was thick and oppressive as the female held her husband into her arms while she started the ritual that would bring dead back to life. But as she was no adept necromancer, she didn't realize that the ritual wasn't meant to bring back only one soul back: it was powerful enough to bring a whole graveyard full of souls back, and as she sealed the ritual with a few drops of blood from her and her child, the soul of her passed husband appeared before her looking shocked. "What have you done?" he said before a bright red flash blinded her and the souls started crying while the ritual attached them back to their bodies, but as she was no necromancer, she didn't know that they wouldn't be brought back in the condition they were before dying... And the ancient dragons started to rise from their graves with their bones dimly visible from their fossilized and decaying bodies, all seeming lost and confused for why they were brought back to the land of the living.

As the female finally got her sight back, she realized what she had done, and not only that: Her last living son was now lying next to her lifeless. Her heart skipped a beat as the shock started to took over her body and tears started to fall from her eyes. She looked up to her once dead husband, who looked back to her with sad eyes. "Why did you bring us back? You know you shouldn't play god by bringing dead back to life", he said. She couldn't make a sound to reply, and her husband looked at her with disappointment in his eyes. "Look around you. There's no place for the dead in the land of the living. These ancient souls can't be let to wonder in this world freely... And as this was your doing, I feel that I'm also responsible for this, and there's no other option for me than to be their shepherd. You clearly aren't strong enough to get these souls back to an eternal rest..."

And as the sun started to rise, this undead horde of ancient souls started their journey with the lead of the once young male and his two children by his side, as the female was left to mourn into the shadows of Cairnstone Rest.

Strangely enough, many of the awekened dragons decided to take this as a second chance, and wanted to enjoy their new lifes to the fullest, adventuring, going places they didn't have the chance or courage to journey in their past life, or find a loved one to warm their cold hearts once more. As the young female's ritual had gone wrong, it had left the awakened dragons with a curse, and to everybody's surprise, some of them even managed to have hatchlings as they find themselves a new love! Their hatchlings shared their undead parent's curse with their appearance, but they were otherwise just like any other living dragon. The young female's ritual might have gone horribly wrong and unintentionally ripped souls from their eternal rest, but to some of them this "curse" of of life as an undead wasn't a curse at all: it was just a beginning of a new and better life.
