Raureifgeist

Rime Spirit

Primary spirits associated with the cold, specifically with rime - a frost formed on cold objects by the rapid freezing of water vapor in cloud or fog. Raureifgeists(or just geists for simplicity) can most often be found following a sudden freeze, such as on a very cold night. These Geists will leave behind a thin layer of frost on any object they have come into contact with.

They are not shy - although will not outwardly attempt to establish communication with the denizens of Sornieth. They tend to be reserved to their own matters, and to gain ones attention you may have to cut right across its path to prevent it from continuing on its journey.

Raureifgeists are not directly hostile, they will, however, cut down any they deem to be getting in the way of their goals. They will do so with lethal precision, a swift slice across the throat with an almost invisible blade of ice. If they do not wish to apply lethal methods they will likely freeze their victims wings, feet, and/or tail to the ground, allowing the Geist to move past them and continue onwards to their goal.

Raureifgeists are easily befriended by a show of ice magic - if the show of magic is great enough they may even deign to serve the caster. Being in close proximity to a Geist will amplify the caster's magical ability greatly, and with enough Geists the caster will be able to summon great blizzards.
