Memories of capture, of abandoment. She had fleeting images in her mind of a small, cramped cage. And voices, cold, cruel voices.
"The subject is bound together by what seems to be patches of soft, patterned skin. And a clear throat filled with a translucent grey substance. Further surveyance and tests will be made and the creature will be put under permanent [blank?]."

She hadn't slept for weeks. Tired out by the endless poking, and prodding, and... pain. So much pain. Blood tests, saliva tests, reaction tests. All had taken its toll on the poor veilspun. She no longer had a voice- the operation had taken care of that after the endless screaming. So much screaming. So much pain.
They had ripped her skin apart- tore the threads that bound her into one piece, one being. And again, those cold, cold words.
"Subject seems to have a negative reaction to threads being pulled. Beta-endorphin levels are high."
Finally they left her cell. It was a white, glass cube with nothing inside except a toilet and a dish with some disgusting cubes of foul meat. It looked like food you'd give to a hainu. Thankfully, the glass had air holes between the cells, meaning that she could communicate with the subjects next to her. By removing her voice box they thought it wasn't a problem. But they were all desperate. Desperate to escape.
