Information
Jester is a wisecracking, sarcastic, but surprisingly charismatic Ridgeback with a chip on his shoulder from a past he's not proud of. Since the moment he hatched he'd been able to hear the inner thoughts of the glorious deities in his head. His original clan rejoiced in his gift, singing praise to their Goddess Lightweaver for blessing them with a child to be their correspondent to the highest beings of Dragonkind.
At first he too considered it a blessing but as time it became more of a curse. He listened and learned things perhaps a dragon probably shouldn't, he began to understand the origins of Gods and realized how turbulent things had been. How even they were as any dragon, imperfect. This knowledge began to conflict with what his clan, his family believed in their praises to their perfect, all knowing deities. The pressure to talk with the gods grew with exceptions from his parents but try as he might he never got response back, only passive thoughts and memories as the came and went. One day it all became to much, to loud. He fled, flying as far as he could from his home never to return.
The next few years of his life he lived as a drifter, going from place to place. Using his wit and charm he'd scam dragons out of their treasure with promises of being able to talk to their respective deity and ask for guidance for how they should live or what to do moving forward.
But eventually his ways caught up to him, angry dragons from the water flight he'd scammed in the past catching on to his lies about communicating with the Tidelord (the only one of the deities he'd hadn't been able to hear). Broken and beaten, left for dead on an isolated stretch of shoreline he closed his eyes regretful of how he'd lived.
And then he dreamt...
A hazey dream, in which he spoke to an imperial he'd never meant but yet gave a sense of relief to his ahcing heart. His life story, his misdoings tumbled out of his mouth knowing it didn't matter for much longer for even has he dreamt he felt his strength fade.
What happened next was blurry but he felt himself being carried as he slipped in and out of consciousness. When he awoke he found his wounds being tended to by the healers of a different clan of dragons, the mysterious Imperial laying nearby sleeping soundly next to him. He learned that the Imperial Blu and found him and rushed him to them in the nick of time. He decided that this was the real gift in his life to gain something so rarely come across to those like him, a second chance.
Jester now stays with the Clan, trying to turn over a new leaf in life. He's not perfect and sometimes he slips into his old trickster tendencies, but nothing as drastic as the past. After everything he's been though he does have trouble opening up to his fellow clanmates and truly connect to them, with exception to Blu who he now sleeps beside in the lair when his worries and anxiety fill his head.
