The crossed out portion is being rewritten, while the section before the strikethrough is more or less good.

They say that those who have known hardship are more grateful for good things than those who have only known comfort. Dusk is proof of that rule.

She left Plague's territory as a young adult, practically dragging herself free from the Wasteland and wandering, wide-eyed and overwhelmed, across the countryside. Her sense of smell, combined with her Plague-sharpened supernatural senses, was too much to bear in a land surrounded by so much rot and death. Her early life there before leaving is one nightmarish blur- the stench of dead flesh putrefying in the sun, the suffocating cloud of disease hanging heavy in the air, the snap of bones underfoot- it's enough to send her into a panic even now, years later, if she thinks about it for more than a few moments.

It's probably only thanks to the Guardian who later became her mate that she survived being so vulnerable in such a harsh territory. Dawnbreak crossed her path by chance and couldn't bear to pass by without helping. He led her to the thriving land and fresh water of Nature's Gladeveins, hoping that getting cleaned up would help her clear her head.

She began her journey from Plague's lands as an adolescent, practically dragging herself free from the Wasteland and wandering, wide-eyed and stunned, across the countryside. It's probably only thanks to the Guardian who later became her mate that she survived being so vulnerable in such a harsh territory.

The Scarred Wasteland is no place for a Tundra. That's what she would tell you, anyway. Slime and rot everywhere, caking her fur and dragging at her steps... every breath tainted with the stench of cracked open bones and old meat going foul in the sun... the air heavy and humid with fever-heat... she can't stand to think about it, let alone talk about it. Not without her voice cracking and her eyes getting a far-away look as they well up.

As soon as she set foot on good soil of Nature's territory, she knew she never wanted to leave again, but when she realized how wary Nature dragons are of Plague she was terrified that she would be driven away. Fortunately Wild Orchard clan's leaders were won over by how obviously overjoyed and grateful she is for every little thing in the Labyrinth. They could hardly accuse her of being a potential traitor when they saw how she relished the sweet crunch of healthy green leaves as though every single one was a delicacy, and gulped down the clean air the way someone dying of thirst might drink water. When Dusk found a patch of bright golden wildflowers and nearly began weeping with joy, it seemed obvious to everyone that she should be welcomed to stay.

And, well, if that meant the Lightning-eyed Guardian with her would stop glowering at them all, wordlessly daring them to accuse her and give him an excuse to start something, that was a nice bonus too.

Now Dusk is Wild Orchard's warm hearted Nature devotee, making up songs and poems about the Wilds and about Gladekeeper as she walks through the shadows of the massive trees, singing to herself and forgetting the words as soon as they're said. She's proud to raise as many children as possible for the glory of her Flight, tending lovingly to her eggs and hatchlings with stories and song until they're old enough to train in combat and move on to a higher service.
