In the shadow of the Gusted Highlands, at the very edge of the Highland Bazaar, there lies a field of dark bamboo and trees rustling in the Windsinger's blessed winds. Most dragons living in the clan or visiting avoid the area- the clan belief about the ancient spirit residing there being the main repellent. One moonlit night however, the fabled field changed. In the morning light, anyone at the top of the Steppes could see the newly carved paths in the field, intricate and expansive. Suddenly rumors of the ancient spirit of the field became rampant, and a group of dragons were volunteered to approach the entrance.

"Enter at your own risk of attack by shades..."
Anios had woken from a deep slumber at the feeling of a nearby shade, and quickly went to work in the night. Carving the intricate labyrinth was no problem, as his past training dictated. Their expertise was in inescapable labyrinth keeping, the maze like construction meant to doom any shades to an eternity of misdirection. The nearby shade was within, probably haunting the place for the next eternity.

After their terrifying encounter with the ancient dragon the group from the clan went back to relay the information. Anios was to be respected and regarded as a new member of the clan, however outcast and aloof they might have been as a Gaoler of the Labyrinth. Many dragons began to bring them offerings of food so that he did not need to leave his post.

Satisfied that they could carry out their work with this arrangement, Anios also stated to members of the clan that he would be glad to guard any draconic prisoners as well.
