Biography
MURIEL
(MER-ee-ul)
Muriel is a lean, swift-looking Skydancer. While he is a weak physical fighter and not favoring of combat at all, he has unusually strong empath abilities, and is very adept at an obscure method of healing magic that few dragons are familiar with. He learned how to use his magic like this through nothing but his own dreams, which were always full of strange premonitions--or memories, perhaps, that perplexed him and his family alike. Hoping to find answers, and feeling a strong connection to the Icewarden himself, Muriel sought to become one of the flight's honor guards so he could test his own abilities and learn more about who he was, while simultaneously serving the flight and his deity.
He now travels the eleven realms in search of Shade-touched beings to identify and study, alongside the Frozen Goblin that has been his companion since his initiation as a guardian of the Ice flight. While Muriel is very pacifistic and prefers not to fight, Suroth (SUE-roth) is quite aggressive, and ready to tear anything with the scent of the Shade to bits. Muriel oftentimes has to convince him to hold back, and be smart about their work instead of violent as they continue on their journey.
One day, he stumbled across the Sabaron Clan and met Mazura, who told him about how he and many of the allies he had made all experienced similar, memory-like dreams that had been the reason Muriel began his search in the first place. At last, he'd begun to gain an understanding of why he would have these cryptic visions: he was something called a transcendent being, who lived and died in another world before being reborn here.
Shocked by this discovery but beyond intrigued by what he'd learned, Muriel decided to stay with the Sabaron Clan and learn more about what may have led to his transcendence and who he used to be. Suroth is trying to urge him to leave it behind and continue searching for Shade-touched creatures like they're supposed to--but lately, both of them have begun to sense that one could be somewhere nearby, inside of the clan itself...
Muriel's pre-transcendent form has been drawn by myself and two of my closest friends. Check out the different styles!
