Basilicata

Basilicata is the main innovator, using things around him to incorporate into the imagination play that the “Sicilies” (please forgive me, readers, I can’t seem to keep spelling it right) spend their time doing. For example, if they are in a cave in their minds, searching for runes, he’ll pick up a rock and gasp with excitement, claiming it to be what they are looking for. He loves when they pretend that they are their own civilization, and he gets to make castles of crates.

(Apulla is the largest, strongest of the “Sicilies” hatchlings. His job during all those adventures is to get them over each step up the hill to the family nests, hauling each of his siblings with his brute strength and size. Apulla’s favorite theme of adventure is those where they are hunting a giant monster- he loves the thrill he gets when they have to run from it, and helping his stumbling siblings makes him laugh.)

Basilicata was best friends with Apulla. Apulla meant something to him that no other dragon would ever compare to. It was something about how Apulla lifted him up (mentally and physically) that was truly iconic. With Apulla’s death, Basilicata is in a rage, going off in the woods and in caves and bashing and gnawing things.

Then, there is suddenly a beautiful and tough Obelisk who seems to take all of Basilicata’s time and attention. Now, all he wants is to entertain her with his imagination.

Being an adult was hard, but now it’s too easy- it seems that Alxas has taken all his responsibilities…
