A sleepless shadow of a dragon that watches over the clan's young. Many question his loyalty and sincerity, his quiet, seemingly bored demeanor putting off most who meet him.
But those who stay, see he's ready to lay his life down in an instant for the hatchlings he watches over. He treats them as his own, and the little ones adore him - he'll sit and listen to them talk for hours about the most mundane of things.. it seems like he's scared of there being a lack of voices in the nursery, even.
There's a reason he never sleeps.
Tibitus is skilled in the art of magic, and has used it to better the lives of the hatchlings and clanmates - but everything comes with a price. For removing their burdens from their mind, relieving the fear of nightmares, past memories and pains.... he is forced to live through them himself. They never seem to stop repeating, no matter what he tries anymore.
The amount of monsters he's taken on for others now form into shadows it seems only he can see when he's alone, that he can't escape even in his dreams. No, they only seem to grow stronger then - he always wakes with wounds if he dares to close his eyes for too long. If he so much looses sight of his surroundings, it seems, they can overtake him.
So now he also uses that magic of his to keep his eyes from ever closing, to keep his body awake no matter how exhausted he may become.
The stories told by his clanmates and the hatchlings he holds so near and dear remind him that it's worth it in the end. Their voices soothe him and his own worries, his fear of being abandoned after everything he's done. They make him smile and continue on with a will no dragon could ever break.
"Just please, don't let the lights go out."
