Biography
The shell began to crack.
A swarm of bright green and yellow light began to pour from the crackle in the marbled encasement. The stony prison weakened steadily, each crack filling with Earthshaker's magic seeping into every crevice.
And then, in a flurry of force, it broke. It shattered with an intense burst of fervor, and a figure formed within the bright, blinding glimmer of light. Pieces of the once-statue scattered across the ground, as did the now-forgotten damaged and destroyed remnants of hundreds and thousands more. The derelict once-great city in ruin, a breath taken as if resurfacing from a deep dive.
There stood a figure within the wet labyrinth, gasping as if fighting for the ability to breathe. A huge, imposing, catlike beastly dragon, the perfect amalgamation of scales and fur, imposing. But in these first few moments they seemed like a baby, new to this world. Their senses imbalanced, bright green eyes searching for purchase to look for any familiar faces.
None. None stood. Only they did.
The vestiges of Earthshaker's whispers yet linger among the stones of the forgotten cave. His frightened song, his sad tones, his love for his new creation. They were all given one mission...
Sunburst was busy visiting other ambassadors of the flight of Autumn, planning for the upcoming autumn season. His foresight had not procured this.
No, it had been Shachar who was the first to welcome the new light into the world.
Instinctively Rowan cowered away. You are not Earthshaker, they thought. Who art thou to impose on mine mission?
His words whispered in their ears.
Open your heart. Without the help of modern dragonkind you will be unable to face the dark future that lies ahead for all. We are relying on you and your kin to help us. This fight cannot be won alone, and our godly powers are not enough. Tidelord is missing and his departure is foreboding.
Their ears twitched , wings reflexively fluttering a few times. They composed themself, puffed out chest, standing tall and proud much to the nocturne's amusement and interest.
"I'm Shachar." the brilliant orange and purple nocturne introduced himself, handing a claw out for the other dragon to take hold of, perhaps for a handshake. The obelisk did not take the claw, for they were not understanding of such a gesture. "Did Earthshaker give you a name before you were turned into stone?" he asked. "I hear when the gods bless a dragon with a name they're even more special."
Earthshaker... Earthshaker! Father!
The dragon's eyes widened. "Earthshaker has created our kind to send a message. Darkness will fall, and we need to find the Tidelord before it's too late." they spoke, voice echoing around the forlorn cavern-city.
"What is your kind called?" Shachar asked. His wings fluttered idly. "Surely he didn't forget to give anyone names."
"We are Obelisks. We were created in the image of our father Earthshaker, to be strong and sure of ourselves." the obelisk replied. "He gave me the name... 'Rowan'."
"Wonder how Snappers are gonna react to the idea they have a sibling species now." the nocturne commented with a snicker.
"There are other creations from Earthshaker?" Rowan asked, intrigued. Shachar nodded, and he replied, "Yes! I can tell you more about them once we leave this cave. You'll be much safer with my clan."
