Biography
Chariothys
???? ???? Along the southeastern round of the Cascadia a peculiar artifact was found. A statue, or a sculpture, of a dragon never seen before with a long curled mane. It was sold at the coastline of the shifting expanse. The lightning clan which found it cited that the strange effigy could not be melted, nor harvested to use for their own projects and so was thrown into their pile of scrap metal and broken wires. The structure, despite being made of pure copper, almost seemed to be enchanted with a magic that didn't allow it to be struck, chipped or mined. |
However, an curious spiral, unfazed by their dismissal of the seemingly meaningless statue, insisted that they sell it. The clan, seeing it as nothing but useless, gave it for free.
As the curious spiral went through pages and books, he grew increasingly puzzled. There was no record of such a dragon ever having been created, even in ancient times. And whatever magic protected the statue was so great that even the Cascades' most skilled mages could not unbind it. It was almost like a deity itself gifted the strange effigy.
For days he puzzled over the idol. Was it a figure? An effigy? An idol? A carving? A sculpture?
One day, just before curling in his nest, a great light emerged from the statue. From from its eyes, and then slowly spreading to its mighty mane, torso, legs, talons and tail. Finally, it became clear.
This was no figure, effigy, idol, carving nor sculpture.
It was an obelisk
