Turns out that being encased in stone for longer than intended can do quite a bit to someone.

Taric woke up, managed to break through bits and pieces of his rock shell, but his head was still trapped. It took a while until other dragons started to realize that not every Obelisk was lucky enough to break out by themselves, and, unable to breathe, Taric had no way to get any energy back into his tired muscles. As luck would have it, he was long unconscious before someone noticed his struggle and came to help.

He doesn't remember any of that. In fact, he doesn't remember much at all. Taric came to a wind clan to be closer to the air he had been deprived of, and, despite his faulty memory and poor motor coordination, he was well received and accepted. It was a hard period of adaption for everyone, but eventually, the clan has become a safe home and family he can count on.

Sometimes he struggles with normal daily tasks, such as walking, feeding himself, writing, or speaking, besides being strictly forbidden to fly by himself. Sometimes, though, life will not be so difficult, and he can walk longer distances and even run. Paws may be shaky and unstable, but the important thing is that he has them, and at least they kind of work.

Taric knows well that, as time goes by, it becomes less likely he'll ever function like a "normal" dragon, and some days are worse than others, when he sees his friends flying high up in the dangerous currents of the Twisting Crescendo, flaunting their acrobatics mastery, and wishes, prays, to the Windsinger and Earthshaker alike, that one day he could join them. He knows this is unlikely, and knows that not every day will be good, but he has plenty of support in the clan, and is thankful for it.

As unlucky as his upbringing was, Taric believes himself to be a lucky dragon, as he is now part of a clan that helps him through his every struggle.
