Biography

"I felt Him, but only a brief moment. Please, I can keep trying. Don't give up on me! I... I just need more time..."

A guardian who was believed to be the key to finding the missing Tidelord. His egg was found near the dig site radiating strong Water magic from within and was immediately seized by one of the seers and brought back to Shoredeep Presage.
When he hatched, he let out a powerful cry that shook the caves and caused the stilled water to ripple. The seers took it as a sign that he was a gift by the Tidelord and treasured him as a progeny of their deity.

Deepseer Tetra didn't believe that Bao was the key to finding the Tidelord and said the seers are wasting their time worshiping a hatchling as a progeny of a god, that they should be looking for their deity themselves, but her words fell upon deaf ears.

Years pass and Bao was ready to begin his first search for the Tidelord, diving deep to where his voice was last heard and felt a rumble in the water. He sensed something was with him, but it vanished before he could reach out to it. He was sure it was The Tidelord and resurfaced to tell the seers of his experience. He told them of what he felt, telling them that he thinks it may have been their deity, but he lost its presence before he could try to make contact with it. The seers were overjoyed. They feel they were close.

For the next two weeks, Bao would return to the pool where he felt the powerful presence. He learned something - something that made him worry. The presence was gone completely. When he told the seers, they tell him that he was still new and that his first encounter was just luck, but even when he kept coming back and saying he feels nothing, the seers began to wonder if he ever felt the Tidelord's presence at all, and began to doubt that such a thing truly happened.

Bao believed it did, and swore he'll keep searching. For weeks he would visit the pool, trying hard to call out to his deity, only to hear nothing but his own heartbeat. The seers gave up on him. The guardian was close to following them until he saw something in the water that beckoned him in, and he received a vision of the Tidelord somewhere in the darkness. His determination renewed, Bao begins a journey to keep searching for the missing deity, leaving the Shoredeep Presage to venture across Sornieth for signs of the Tidelord, occasionally stealing glances to the open ocean in wonder if he was out there.

Thankfully for him, he will not be alone in this search.
