The Clockwork Oddity Circus travels all over Sornieth, bringing delight, amusement, and oddities for all to see! Marvel at the fantastical robotic creations of the eccentric Ringmaster Desmond Hearth as they perform for your amusement! Clockwork dragons perform death-defying stunts, sing showtunes, and partake in daring acts of acrobatics! You'll never see another show with as many heart-pounding thrills, just as you'll never see another clockwork dragon as complex as the ones right here at The Clockwork Oddity Circus! Robots not your style? Well worry not! On his travels Desmond has formed a collection of oddities like no other! See things never before seen by dragonkind! Artifacts of past civilizations, strange and unusual sights just waiting to be discovered in our very own Curios Muesum!

Desmond Hearth's Traveling Clockwork Oddity Circus was started by our lovely Ringleader after finding his passion in creating clockwork automatons. As the story goes, he got his start making little metal birds that would hope and chirp, and with enough magical tinkering even fly! This slowly progressed to bigger animals and more complex tricks until he was making full clockwork dragons that seem to move and act just like any real dragon. Though whether or not these creations actually have sentience, our dear leader will never reveal. Driven by a love of creation and collections of the odd and unusual sort, Desmond is a mix between P.T. Barnum and Ripley's believe it or not.

However, despite all the genuine joy this circus brings, there is something to be wary of. For every shining light a shadow is cast after all. Dragons from all over have reported an increase in pickpockets and burglary cases where ever the Circus goes. After all, the upkeep of such a marvelous event with so many moving parts, and the purchase of so many wonderous oddities doesn't come cheap. But fear not dear traveler, these are all just rumors after all, just mutterings of jaded folks looking for someone to blame.

B I O G R A P H Y

After being freed from his statue-esque prison, Desmond found he.. wasn't quite sure what to do with himself. He traveled for a while, eventually finding his way to the Ashfall Waste, where he discovered his love of metalworking. He started out making simple children's toys until a fateful trip to the Starfall Isles ended in him learning a new form of magic that could help breath more life into his creations. This sparked an outright obsession. Desmond became obsessed with making his creations more and more life-like, trying to create something that could function as its own fully realized creature. He stagnated, however, before deciding that his end goal was simply impossible. He started displaying his creations as a Circus, and thus Desmond Hearth's Traveling Clockwork Oddities Circus was born.

It wasn't until he befriended a particular Skydancer, Pietro, that Desmond would turn to criminality to solve the not insignificant financial troubles that plagued both him and the circus. Pietro, having been born into a life of crime suggested he simply take up thievery to gain the needed funds. And, though hesitant at first, Desmond quickly realized that a life of crime suited him well. He was not only using the circus as a traveling base for theft, but as a way to smuggle stolen and less-than-legal goods around Sornieth.

Desmond Hearth is a dragon with all the bravado, confidence, and showmanship you'd expect from a ring leader. What others might mistake for an a performance persona, those close to him know that Desmond is just Like That. He cares about everyone who works under his watch, though the actual dragons less so than his clockwork children. He is actually an incredibly smart dragon, though his self confidence often prompts him to do stupid things because of it. He can also be very short tempered with those who mess with the circus, specifically his robots. Even a worker would not be spared his full wrath if they happen to break a robot. Though it might shock people that Desmond and Pietro are such good friends, they both approach life with a similar 'the world is my stage and I'm going for gold' way of thinking.
