THE FRIENDLY DEATH Eye of the Unknown Rook Calling Card: Snapped Black Feather Unaffiliated Problem-Solver For Hire TRINKETS ╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ |
herself ❧ She will introduce herself as Jequirity, secure that only those who share her profession will recognize the origin of the name. Unlike so many of her Crow brethren, she seems less invested in covering herself with crimson feathers and precious metals. To some, this is reassuring; to others, deeply worrisome. But she is a friendly sort, social and often helpful to those within her wider community, and so she walks freely among them all, for now. eboncrows ❧ A fairly clannish and social species, Eboncrows are typically found in large colonies known as a “Rookery.” They are an invasive species whose ability to quickly reproduce and outcompete native denizens earns it a troubling reputation. They get along easily with their own species as a whole and even actively work together with Lesser Eboncrows. Their large numbers and their ability to freely cooperate has created a large information network among themselves where it can be traded, sold or distributed in turn for favors or rewards. Their eyes and ears are everywhere. Despite being a variant of the Effluvial Crow, Eboncrows are perhaps the most abundant and readily available type of Crow that can be found all throughout Sornieth, second only to Lesser Eboncrows. Due to the sheer formidable number of their relative population, there is little need in the way of rigorous training or intense survival measures to compensate for. What they lack in quality, they greatly make up for in quantity. murder ❧ Contagion effects: Their viral strain is a mutated version of the Effluvial variety. It is odorless and more immediately fatal compared to its bolstering-blood frenzying cousin. Eboncrows are able to control the dose that is distributed to their victims. In small amounts, dizziness, nausea and confusion and thrashing are common symptoms that may not necessarily lead to death. Larger quantities can overstimulate the heart and lead to a quick death in a matter of minutes. Outwardly, it appears similar to a strong venom, but make no mistake that it is a bloodborne disease that can quickly spread to infect others that have made contact with it. It is important to note that Effluvial Crows are immune to their disease, but the inverse is not true. Eboncrow feathers hold no value in Crow society. Among themselves, they are used as calling cards and death threats. Their occupation in information trading has also opened more sinister opportunities in which many put their odorless viral strain to assassination work. Eboncrows never work alone, and if you are being pursued by one, know that there are many more just out of sight. | xx |
