xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Well-meaning dragons from across Sornieth came to donate their oil to the Dustcarve Dig, and for a short while, it did indeed go towards helping the dig effort, but something strange began to happen. With such a large concentration of magically enhanced oil gathered in one area, such things were inevitable. It began to take shape, molding with the rocks around it. It did not know what it was meant to be, but then, it felt the presence of a mighty beast calling for more oil (the yet unnamed being later found out its inspiration's name was Armik). And so, it fashioned itself after the beast, taking the form of a Snapper.

Now it hides in the shadows and crevices, stealing great amounts of oil when watchful eyes go to rest.

Born of of the blood, sweat, and tears of thousands, Lanternhoarder's hunger for the oil that is its lifeblood will never cease.
