Sylvannas Windrunner
Sylvannas was born and raised in Dragonhome, home of the Earthshaker, child to the first of the Dragon Gods. Dragonhome was said to be where the world began, as the remnants of the Pillar still stand there, a solemn reminder of the shattering of dragonkind.

Growing up in such a place, Sylvannas pondered of the choices of life. She wondered if, perhaps, another region might suit her, if she might find a better lair than her the place of her birth. It was this curiosity that drove her to travel, visiting every region of Sorneith in an attempt to find her place. A few places called to her, the friends she made along the way leaving warm spots in her soul, but none warm enough to settle her.

In her journey, she met and clashed with another Imperial, Arthas, and lost her life to his ambition. Though he raised her from her death, her fury drove her to attack him, over and over. She could not defeat him, however, and withdrew from the conflict bitterly. She settled into the Tangled Wood, even more eager to find a life after such an experience.

When Arthas arrived in the lair she had chosen as her home, Sylvannas immediately rejected him. It took her months to tolerate him, let alone come to accept him as her equal. Her hatred for him eventually subsided, however, and they ended up tending nests together. Such a slow but drastic transformation has led her to ponder her place in the world even more seriously.
