Nephrite

my dirt baby!! got to take home a whole baby from the expedition. prehnite's real confused about this one. hatched as a perfectly happy and healthy bouncing mirror baby girl... she's been chewing on his tail since she hatched and he's too scared to send back to the outpost for help

The young guardian carefully nudged the little squirming bundle with one claw before delicately taking it by the stubby arms, lifting it into the air before him. The hatchling nipped at his claws before pausing to stare at his face, awestruck and fascinated as her little tail flipped about in the air beneath her. Her scales were a deep green-grey, eyes glinting like polished olivine as she continued to gnaw absently on one of his talons without breaking eye contact. "I know it's not a traditional windy name, but..." Prehnite squinted at the orphaned baby, still stunned at the little bundle of wolfish teeth and chunky baby limbs tangled in his claws, "...Nephrite?" She stared at him like a puppy, wide-eyed, and then clamped her little claws against the sides of his snout, letting out a little squawk of delight.
