Rozanova was a child of great turmoil - an abandoned egg brought to Bonerattle Point by those who participated in the Dustcarve Dig. The miners were assured of great profit to bring the new goods into the Icefield. She was confiscated as smuggled materials as those who found her were searched before trying to enter the Icefield. Natalya was incensed, Kolya was horrified, Mateja was potently furious. Her captors were detoured to the Fortress of Ends forthwith.

Kain was the one deigned to care for the young one who hatched from the egg. He took to his assignment with wariness, since it was just so small... but was instantly overtaken with the same paternal instinct he had for his own nests when Rozanova's infinitely tiny snout popped out of the shell. He loves her intensely, and the two have a strong bond.

 		Not blessed with much magical aptitude and unable to perform physical tasks around the Point to the clan's standards, Rozanova found her niche in the same field her father did - philosophy. They say Light dragons are predisposed to scholarly pursuits. Rozanova does not believe in such generalities, but in this case she'd admit you're correct. She admires the stories Kain tells her of his own father, a true Light philosopher trained in the Sunbeam Ruins. Privately, Rozanova wonders if she would be there if things had turned out differently. There are a lot of things she wonders about when it comes to her pale yellow eyes. The circumstances of her birth were strange and unknown, as there were never any answers to how the miners came across her. Kain is so fully her father, and her home is here, but there is an entire life of hers unlived because of that one event - and no reasons are forthcoming.

The only one she feels really understands her is Dostoyevsky. He's in the same circles she is - and are complete opposites in schools of thought. Where Rozanova finds meaning in complete order, in the factual and scientific truth of cause and effect in all things (something she may have picked up from a childhood around Markov), Dostoyevsky is a romanticist. Love and emotion sway all his thinking. While his processes of thinking are completely sound, Rozanova cannot abide by such emotionalized conclusions. Unfortunately, she's hopelessly infatuated with him. Such is the duality of the mind and the heart; she struggles to rationalize it.

It would be all for the best if Rozanova learned not everything happens for a good reason.
