When the beings of Shade began to crawl the earth, began to dance, sing and strangle life in the darkness... It was there that his story began, in the deepest depths of Sornieth. Enthazairn was born of a covenant, though his true Creation would not come to see light for many moons. Destined as a harbinger, the spirit Enthazairn slept before an ancient well of magic, a fragment of Shade itself. He was to protect it's power, said the gods. It was a might too vast to destroy, a fear too strong to keep. And Enthazairn as nothing more than a phantom understood his place as a servant to the Eleven. Yet... He was a failure. The fragment was taken, long ago. And though he warned the gods, stunted the magic long enough to keep the fool who'd taken it sane, he was let alone in the cold quiet of the rubble. So he slept. And he slept. And he continued to sleep for nearly 1000 years until his calling was once again wrought from the very fragment he was meant to protect. The sensation, the burning yet frozen pull of the crystal in his territory... It stung, but it was something, anything more than the crippling emptiness of the cavern. So he manifested once again, this time above the surface. Where the sky touched, where the wind blew. But to find a little fae, and to be assigned his protector by the deities themselves... It was more than he bargained for. And it was then that his ghostly form was given shape, given a soul, a heart, a mind of his very own... He breathed breath into new lungs, and his first step marked the beginning of a journey of self discovery, friendship... and maybe even love. As of now, Enthazairn, or rather "Zaire," is a blank canvas. Knowing nothing of the living world, he's being impressioned by those around him, dependent on them for modern civil behaviors where his ancient knowledge lagged behind. |
