Biography
G3 Ignis Descendant
__._ |
Granddaughter of The Beast and daughter of Wicked. Eldest of her nest and steeped in the shade influence of her lineage. Ereshkigal learned to hone her abilities in the shadows, away from her predecessors’ dangerous claws. She observed her mother and siblings from a distance, learning from them and improving her own abilities. When she came of age she abandoned her mother's clan and left for Plague territory to carve out a domain of her own. Her abilities terrified the local dragons unfortunate enough to cross her path, and from them she earned the nickname 'Conqueror Worm.' As her reputation spread, Erishkigal grew more conceited. This arrogance proved to be her downfall. An average dragon stood little chance of withstanding the shade-touched abilities of her bloodline. She needed a stronger opponent to truly prove her power. She journeyed to the Wyrmwound to test the Plaguebringer's own carefully crafted diseases, and perhaps the Plaguebringer herself. The cauldron quickly infected her with the Plaguebringer’s latest brew. It turned the blood she so prided herself on against her. Blood seeped from her wings and hardened into heavy crystals. Unable to fly with such weighty wings, she fled from the cauldron on foot. She wandered away from the Wyrmwound in a state of feverish delirium before collapsing at the edge of the Rotrock Rim. Ereshkigal next awoke in an unfamiliar location with golden chains wrapped around her wings. As she stirred, a Coatl approached. He introduced himself as Nergal, member of the Pantheon clan led by the Fae dragon Ananke. He explained the clan found her unconscious at the edge of their territory. Intrigued by the high degree of shade energy she carried within her, Ananke had her brought to the dens for further research. The Fae dragon constructed the magical chains wrapped around her wings in order to slow the spread of her infection enough that her body could adapt and overpower it. Left in a weakened state by her ordeal, Ereshkigal begrudgingly accepted the clan's assistance. The shade-touched Imperial slowly recovered her strength, though the crystals never fell from her wings. She was now forced to walk upon the earth. Her other powers remained undiminished. She mostly ignored the other members of the clan and barely tolerated Ananke's questions about her lineage. She had little need for companionship. She always survived on her own even in her youth. Nonetheless, she found herself drawn to Nergal. The two shared a like-mindedness she had never encountered elsewhere. The thought of parting from him strangely pained her. She decided to stay, if only until she grew weary of him. She never did. Fully recovered, Ereshkigal demanded Ananke hand over control of the clan's fighting forces to her. Uninterested in conducting conquests or leading forces herself, Ananke agreed... so long as Ereshkigal continued to supply her with her shed feathers and scales for her research. Ananke continues to lead the clan politically while her mate Khronos controls the nesting grounds, but Ereshkigal now commands their military might, and with it, expands her own domain's wealth. | ___ |
