Lightning never strikes the same place twice...... Unless I'm involved!

Grimstorm stands under the Stormcatcher as the Storm Warden. His prowess in the voltaic arts has been forever been unmatched and has yet another dragon to challenge him at his own mastery. The Storm Warden is tasked with churning the clouds above The Shifting Expanse and drawing each impeccably unique spark of lightning. Grimstorm never takes an opportunity to slack off when it comes to his fine work, using every drop of his energy to provide the world with their thunderstorms, as ominous and destructive as they come. Some have criticised him for the destruction he has wrought with his chaotic creations, high speed winds ripping apart lairs, sacred monuments being victims of his powerful displays of voltaic mayhem. Others, mainly dragons that align themselves with the lightning element, have praised him for his displays, as much of his power is used to fuel the circuitry in The Shifting Expanse's abundant monuments, technology and gadgets the lightning flight have made themselves so famous for. Much to dragonkind's obliviousness, he dwells directly beneath The Source and is responsible for it's impressive yields of usable energy it supplies to the glittering turrets of Goldensparc by tending to the vast triumph of machinery with his legendary cogspanner.

Grimstorm bolsters personality that one would consider particularly 'aggravated'. He detests individuals that disturb him from his precious work and will not reconsider unleashing his tempest storms upon those that direct his attention away. Many a dragon that suspected his presence underneath the source have felt his electrifying wrath when they attempted to dig their claws where they didn't belong.

Many have noted his undying allegiance with the Gale Warden, who supplies him with the windpower needed to transport his expertly crafted thunderstorms to their desired locations by order of the Stormcatcher. It would be unfair to expect him to complete such a draining action all on his lonesome. No dragon has ever come close to wielding more than one element without severe consequences and to think a dragon of such high stature could do he same is uncanny. If this were so, there wouldn't be need for a Gale Warden at all.

The such good relationship between the Gale and Storm Wardens could be because they were taken in as adoptive siblings by a pack of feral, yet kind chimeras in the harsh terrain of the shifting expanse not long after the first eight sealed themselves away inside the pillar. As any siblings do, they had their fair share of rivalries, much of their feats of strength against one another consisted of scaling the pillar, the first one to reach the summit the victor. However, the adoptive brothers found their rivalries come abruptly to an end when the ancient pillar crumbled under the shade's devastating might.

They awoke, injured and broken, much like the world they knew. Or at least, what they thought they knew. Grimstorm found himself at the mercy of the Stormcatcher, a majestic draconian deity. Grimstorm, as gravely injured as he was, bowed to the Stormcatcher's magnificence. The Deity looked down and wondered to himself, "Is this pity? Pity on a mortal dragon with barely the ability to stand on his own four legs? What use do I have for this.... creature of such miniature proportions?" The young dragon stared up at The Stormcatcher with pleading eyes. His body could not sustain his life much longer, his eyelids began drooping and the dread of death loomed ever near. Finally, the mighty God spread his wings wide and rose to stand on his hind legs. The sight struck both fear and awe in the young dragon's waning heart, straining himself to remain conscious enough to witness what was next to come.

"Do you wish to live, whelp?" the Stormcatcher boomed, his voice echoing throughout the broken wasteland. Grimstorm struggled to speak. He was fading but just managed to muster a subtle nod.

"So be it. From this day forth, you shall denounce your former titles, occupations and wealth and reside by my side for the rest of eternity as the Storm Warden. I name you Grimstorm, heralder of thunder, wielder of lightning and keeper of the mighty tempest!"

Grimstorm felt a sudden rush of energy. He had never felt more alive. He gravitated towards the sky, his wings spread wide, crackling with the Stormcatcher's magic. His body seemed to vibrate with enough energy to power a thousand factories, sparking left and right, without regard for anything it met in its journey into the unknown.

And with that, the Storm Warden was born in his excellence, entirely at the mercy of the master of lightning himself. Whenever you are found as the victim of a particularly powerful storm, just be wary, as displays like this is the Storm Warden letting the world know that he is still here and he isn't afraid of showing his mettle to the mortal world.
