Biography

Kurzezbic was born on the second day of digging at Dustcarve; as a sign, the protector of Earth's elemental stone started to stay with him.

The child has to be kept away from the digging site, or he would try to enter it. It seems obvious to anyone what will be the hatchling's future: underground, uncovering the mysteries hidden in the dirt.

Vibrating in expectation, Kurzezbic have been flying back and forth at the entrance of the tunnels. He couldn't understand why his family refused to let him go in, and when he went to Dziedziczka to complain, she actually was on his parents' side! The clan doesn't have yet an underground explorator like him, and yet they refuse to let him do what he' good at!
Knowing that something big was being found in the underground with no one from the clan to see it was only making him more annoyed at this whole ordeal. After a moment, he eventually decided to go to Zalozyciel. Surely, she would understand, right?! And because she was the founder, the others would definitely listen!

Decided, Kurzezbic started to fly away from Dustcarve; but then, he was stopped by Nadzieja who just arrived.

"Where are you going?" she asked.
"I want to explore the digging site! I'm gonna ask Zalozyciel!"

Nadzieja only laughed. "And you think she will let you? No, if you go to her, she will only refuse your demand, and make sure to have everyone knowing that you're not allowed in."
"What do I do, then?"
"Look," she said, pointing to the tunnel entrance. Dragons were walking in and out, bringing with them supplies and tools to study whatever was found.
"And?" the young dragon asked.
"Everyone is too busy to actually pay attention. If you have enough confidence when entering, no one will know you're not supposed to be there."
"... but I'm not allowed to..."
"The older folks at the clan are all the same, Kurzezbic. They're hypocrites, overprotective of the younger ones, when themselves were living dangerous adventures. This tunnel is done and all consolidate; there are enough dragons in it to help you out if there's an issue. There is basically no danger. You want to go down, to be an explorator? You need to learn how to play by your own rules."

On these words, Nadzieja left to talk with dragons from other clans, most likely forging alliances in preparation for when she will be the new leader.

Kurzezbic gave one hesitant glance in the direction his clan was set; then, he turned around, and with confidence, entered the tunnel.

Down there, a crowd was assembled; in order to see what was happening, Kurzezbic spread his wings, and flew to join other Faes who decided to use their small size to their advantage. Whatever was happening had already started, and the young dragon cursed under his breath that he couldn't be there earlier. But his resentment was sort-lived, as he saw with amazement a statue turns to life. Then another one, and another another one. Soon, the crowd was facing another crowd of dragons never seen before.

"For those of you who were late," a dragon started, "these dragons are the newly creation of the Earthshaker. They are here to help us defend Sornieth from a new threat... please welcome them in your clans, for they are our siblings and hey need a place o stay."

Again buzzing with excitement, Kurzezbic had to restrain himself from flying all over the place. He waited patiently for the dragons before him to each leave, often with a member of the new. specie.
Of course, he was jubilating. Had he not come down there, surely his clan would never have had the chance to welcome one of the new dragons!

Though, now that he was seeing the dragons from closer, and how huge they were, Kurzezbic felt a shudder of worry passing through him, an ancestral instinct yelling at him to leave already, or he'll get crushed. But then, one of the dragons (an Obelisk, he remembered hearing), approached him, and, gently, cocked his head to the side in worry.
'Hum, huh, hi!!' he blurted out.
"Hi," a deep voice answered. His crests fluttered, and its with a lot of willpower that Kurzezbic kept them from flattening against his body.
"So, uhm, you, you come with me to the clan???"
The Obelisk did something that looked like a smile, if the smile was made by a dragon who never used, or even seen one, only heard of it as a description. Strangely, instead of unnerving him, this poor attempt at a smile appeased Kurzezbic, as the young dragon remembered hearing stories of Faes scaring other dragons after trying to emote a smile for the first time. Even though the nature of the lair Kurzezbic grew up in helped him showcasing his emotions better to other kind of dragons, he still would appear as pretty underwhelmed to the dragons who didn't bother learning his specie's body language. So seeing this huge dragon with struggles that could remind him of his... maybe that was all it needed.

When a very worried Fae flew at him at the exit of the tunnel, the young dragon knew he as in trouble. Especially when he saw Dziedziczka's face morph at the sight of the huge dragon behind him.

"Kurzezbic, there is a lot you need to explain," she said.

Well, at least he has a new friend.
