Biography

Aldryd Beach
Anomaly 46352: Living Beach

-It/Its, AceAro
-Discovered while researchers were investigating several reports regarding an odd beach on the coast between the Starfall Isles and the Southern Icefield. Reports indicated that the beach was strangely devoid of any animal life and that any fauna actually sighted seemed to go out of its way to avoid the area, that at times it seemed to produce an odd foul smelling dark liquid when digging there, that the sands seemed to shift and move in bizarre patterns contradictory to the tide and wind in the area, that at certain times of the day an odd deep humming noise could be heard through the area, and that several plants not native to the region could be found there. Following these reports, researchers set out to the area to investigate and try to find some root causes for these problems, expecting initially to either find completely natural and normal answers, signs of draconic activity, or signs of anomalous activity tied to something living in the area as explanations for any number of the strange reports. They were not expecting the beach itself to be the anomaly. But they found no evidence of outside interference or of natural explanations for the experienced phenomenon, and so decided to test the reports of strange liquids coming from the beach more thoroughly. Digging into the beach and sampling some of it- and when labs came back reporting it as blood from an unknown animal, they tried to dig deeper into seemingly a layer of hard compact dirt beneath the sand, causing a howl of pain to echo over the entire area in clear response. It was at this point that the researchers decided to label the area as anomalous and close it off for further investigation.
-Aldryd Beach is considered to somehow be a living creature upon which flora has grown on, and sand and stone has gradually with time piled on top of. While this is largely due to the presence of blood and living tissue beneath the sand, the beach does react to stimuli in the same vein as a living creature. It largely responds with noise- reacting with loud sounds of distress when dug into or otherwise harmed, "purring" during maintenance, humming to itself during lulls, "yawning" periodically during the day- but there are times where it seems to move. This is just noted as a careful shifting of the sand, of rising of the dunes like they're taking a great breath, and other such careful shifting. Any signs of a distinct personality or intelligence are non-existent beyond the periodic humming, which suggests the creature beneath the dunes at least has enough intelligence to have a concept of music for no reason but play.
-It's a beach.

Containment Procedure
-Threat Level: Tentative
Anomaly is considered a potential threat and only allowed interaction under specific conditions/situations with cleared staff. Visitors are only allowed to interact in special circumstances.

-The perimeter around the anomaly is to be sectioned off with chain-link fencing standing about 15ft, and several security cameras have been installed around the perimeter in order to catch potential break-ins. A magical field is to be maintained over the top of to prevent potential break-ins via flight. Four (4) Clearance Level 1 Guards must be on the scene at all times to keep up security, with two on the land by the beach and two by the sea to prevent breaches via swimming. One (1) Ice Mage (or a mage similarly practiced in barrier spells) must be kept on scene at all times in order to keep up maintenance of the magic field over the anomaly.
-Personnel must report to █████ in order to gain access to the area, as must any visitors. All personnel and visitors entering the area must first go through decontamination in order to make sure they do not cause a biological breach of the area that could affect the anomalies health, and to make sure they do not bring contraband into the area.
-Any personnel found sneaking in contraband or causing unauthorized harm to the anomaly will be punished depending on the severity of the breach.
