Day 7: Blessing
They called it a blessing of the Tidelord at his birth, though it was overshadowed by his sister's. The sparkling, many-faceted eyes which displayed multiple perspectives at once. He watched his sister's oracular training, and he learned what he could through what his fractured sight could show him. It was sometimes difficult to see anything.
Then the dreams started. Each night, a faint whisper in his ear. Whispers of power beyond imagining, and the ability to see as other dragons saw. He recognized the voice as that of the Shade, and he recoiled. And yet a part of him wondered what his blessing was truly worth.
A clear voice came in a dream one night. Whose voice it was, he did not know. "Go to the Plaguebringer. Accept her plague into yourself, and never let it go."
He woke up troubled. This voice was far different than the voice of the Shade. But was it of the Tidelord or the Plaguebringer?
"Brother." His sister was awake. Fifty images of her whirlpool eyes filled his sight. "You have dreamed it, too."
"Yes."
"We are to take the Necromantic Trials, and we are to fail."
"On purpose. Yes." He scratched his crests. "To what end? And who speaks?"
"Not the Shade. Therefore, I think it wise to heed the Voice's call."
"Very well." He moved a little closer to her, nudging her to her feet. "Let us go."

Day 15: Ghoul
He received the blessing of the Mother, opening himself up to it. He moved only a few feet closer to the Wyrmwound and lay down, closing his eyes. He felt his sister near him, but not too near. He could hear the whisper of her eyes, in constant motion.
"Brother."
"Yes?" He did not open his eyes.
"You remember that we are to fail."
"Of course."
"It is not truly a failure, if we open ourselves to the possibilities."
"The power."
"The Plague."
They did not speak to one another after that. There was no need. As their bodies became overrun, and they became deadly biomasses, easily spreading disease, they were one in purpose.
There was no need for the officiating Necromancers to pronounce them Ghouls, but they also did not know what to make of the two. Their eyes were clear and sane, but brimming with elemental energies from another deity. They neither spoke nor rampaged. In the end, the Necromancers let them go.
And they went their separate ways.
