Vicereine won't tell anyone much about her past, dancing around the subject with scoffs and cries of "well, it's not polite to ask a lady's age, now is it?" Most who interact with her gain the impression that she was simply coddled and pampered as a hatchling, growing up with satin drapery and silver spoons galore. This is certainly the impression she gives off, as she sniffs at the romping play of her fellows from a comfortably shaded perch, or delights in various "diplomatic duties" the overseers give her to keep her busy.

Despite being so shallow, she does manage to carry her weight in their small society. Since Heavensent despises public speaking, Ulyana has no time for it, and all the others are too busy with their own responsibilities, it is often she who negotiates with other clans. She adores travel and has been known to persuade any dragon nearby into going with her on her "adventures," which aren't terribly adventurous at all.

Occasionally, in the heady silence of humid summertime nights, she sings. Haunted, wordless melodies carry across the Haven, winding through the alcoves of sleeping dragons and filling the air with the unknowable stories that lie at the bottom of the sea. Come morning, she denies all knowledge of any such music, but her weeping blue scales say otherwise.
