Patience is an old soul. He has experienced much in his long life, lived in many domains, and he tries to all of the experiences he has gained over his life for good. He died at one point, but doesn't really remember that, only that it happened and that for some reason the Stormcatcher allowed him to continue living. Now, he spends his later years guiding young dragons and tending to those who need his counsel. He is essentially a therapist, guidance counsellor and a very good shoulder to cry on. Patience tends to come highly recommended and has clients visit him in Mossgarde from all over Sornieth.
Patience is not proud of what he did as a young dragon. Born into a clan that abhorred violence, the clan let some of the more zealous of the Plaguebringer's children rove freely on their land. We will just plant the seeds again, his father would say, death and life are a cycle and without each other they cannot thrive. That changed, however, when he met his first love, Wrath. Though a Plague dragon, she was gentle and kind, and was frustrated with her clan's blatant disregard of life. After a few months of secret meetings, Patience gained enough information to act. Stealing funds the treasury, he hired a band of mercenaries to intimidate the trespassers and dissuade them from returning. Instead his mercenaries attacked the clan, leaving only a few survivors. Patience was horrified when his hirelings reported back: they resisted and so they were punished.

Banished by his father, Patience fled with Wrath to the Shifting Expanse, where he remained until the clan's eventual fall. They helped found a new clan, known as the Node, in the Stormcatcher's domain and adopted the two young hatchlings, Envy and Audacity together. At some point however, Wrath found out that it was Patience who had given the order to have her family eliminated, and so she turned on him and slowly began to plan his demise. As a result of her actions, Wrath and all who were associated with her were executed. Patience still feels guilty about this, knowing that many of her followers had chosen to stand behind her because they were unhappy with the leadership of the Node and others were simply innocent dragons who had made the mistake of being her friend. He would live with the guilt for years, and it almost consumed him when the survivors of the Node relocated to Dragonhome. Though he still had his adoptive children, they would often be gone and Patience found himself becoming increasingly lonely. Worried about her adoptive father, Envy attempted to drag him out on multiple of her excursions, and reluctantly, he agreed. Gradually, she coaxed him further and further away, until one day she took him into the Gladekeeper's domain and together they found Mossgarde. Returning to his home element brought a spark of life back to Patience, and he immediately decided he would never be leaving again.
