Sholto

Not long after Arrenzo's disappearance, Bramble received a message from a harried looking gold-throated sparrow. It was a reminder for an autumn contest that Arrenzo had signed up for. Bramble went into a slump for days, remembering the good times with Arrenzo and his love of contests and festivals. However, Kain was the one to talk her round.

At first, Bramble decided not to take part, thinking it to be too much. Again, Kain stepped in to talk her round, seeing it as an excellent way to carry on Arrenzo's legacy and give Clan Kaitos a bit of a break. Bramble eventually agreed and she began to look after a plague egg, encouraging it to hatch.

A little baby mirror popped out in delightfully shady colours, perfect for the contest. However, she soon lost heart again, not bothering to train the little mirror up, or even name him. Once more, Kain took over, glancing the little creature up and down and naming him 'Sholto'. The little mirror went through a rebellious stage, having resented his earlier treatment from Bramble, and he refused to accept any of Kain's attempts to make it up to him, although he accepted the name begrudgingly.

The rebellious phase continued, and Sholto fell in with the wrong crowd, namely the clan's resident dark dragon, Yuna. From her, he learned the tricks of the dark forces, becoming the king of passing between. During his frequent trips between, he found all manner of strange creatures being attracted to him. His favourite is a parasite that has bonded with him, granting him an extra limb and a valuable weapon in war, although his rotting bear, Nightflyer, and deadly warlock aide, Arvis, are close seconds. He now brims with the infernal energies of between, and has become a ticking bomb just waiting to explode...

Recently, some of his badassery has been undermined by a little pink blob that is determined to spend time with him, often tripping him up, and constantly asking the infernal question, 'Why?'.
