Aurum

Aurum lifts a diamond ring into the light of the workshop, examining the glint of the silver and the gleam of the perfect, round diamond sitting on top. He nods in satisfaction and sets it down gently into a small, velvet box.

"Dad! Guess what I came up with. Come take a look!" Orca peeked her head out from the door. She giggled and held up her favourite sketchbook. Scribbled on one page is a design for a necklace she had been working on - copper chain laced with silver and a simple crescent-shaped ruby dangling from it.

Aurum smiles proudly at Orca. His daughter was all kinds of creative and loved helping her father design new jewellery. He scans the sketch one last time before turning to her. "Yes, this is beautiful. I'll make sure to have it in production by the end of this week, how does that sound?"

His heart warms to see Orca leap with joy. "Thanks so much, dad! See you!" And she skips out of  the room, humming to herself. Aurum sighs with content. He was lucky to have such a beautiful and talented daughter. Just where was her mother?
