A black and white Coatl of Winterborne high,
Beneath his scales, a sharp and cunning mind,
As Nyx's trusted advisor, difficult choices he'd find.

He was the one with the weight on his shoulders,
To keep the clan secure, as the world grew colder,
To decide who could stay and who must go,
To weigh the risks and avoid potential woe.

His decisions were not easy, his burden great,
But for Winterborne's safety, he'd decide their fate,
Though some did not agree with his stern approach,
He knew he couldn't falter, he couldn't broach.

And then the day came, when Nyx told him the plan,
To isolate the clan, to take a stand,
Ortoros felt the sorrow fill him deep,
Knowing that this decision, he could not keep.

He watched as Winterborne became more remote,
Its walls grew higher, and its people wrote,
Their stories into the icy landscape, trying to cope,
With the isolation and the fading hope.

But Ortoros did what he had to do,
For the safety of the clan, and the trust Nyx imbued,
He still felt the weight of his decisions,
The cost of Winterborne's isolation, the sadness it brings.

For though he acted with Winterborne's best in mind,
He knows the toll it took, the pain left behind,
And even with his gifts, his advice, his strength,
Sometimes the right choice brings sorrow at length.
