The Starlit Muse
You would like to believe that this was a statue in front of you. An extremely detailed, beautiful, lifelike statue of a dragon that had once had a name. You want to convince yourself of the illusion that it was an ancient monument to some forgotten beauty long since lost to history.
But alas, it was not.
Frozen in time, her chest rises and falls with each breath she takes, and with every beat of her heart she proves to you that she was alive. The Starlit Muse, her plaque reads, and the Vielspun sits in a pensive pose, her brilliant eyes faraway. She sits with one hand under her chin and the other sprawled out on her parchment scroll, lit only by the immortal candles periodically placed around her.
You shiver, you think that it has little to do with the eternal cold of the museum.
I’m a beautiful piece of art. the residents of the Museum seem to grin at you. We are beauty. We are perfection.
