Biography
these were supposed to be for my fr blame! au lore but i haven't even started the breeding project for it. they were written with a mirror oc in mind but for now i'm leaving them in this pov since i don't have a name for the oc yet.
"the heck are you talkin' about?" the spiral turned their head and spit into the abyss. "there ain't no gods down here. if there were, they're long gone by now."
"how do you know that?"
"ya think we'd all still be down here if something high 'n' mighty like a god was down here with us?" the spiral cackled, their pupils flashing. "maybe somethin' powerful is alive down here -- but if there is and they haven't tried to help us, then i hope we never meet."
you eyed the smaller twisty dragon warily, "why?"
"'cause i'd leave 'em in these tunnels forever."
you were pretty sure you were eating giant isopod--well, you hoped it was that. the old, one-eyed snapper in front of you was chomping down on a mashed combo of the mystery seafood and some withered plants. "tasty?" she asked around a large bite.
"delicious," you answered. it was honestly less delicious and more fishy, but in a place like this, you couldn't complain much. you picked a bit of shell from your teeth and tossed it into the pile in front of you.
"betcha want some meat, eh?" the bogsneak next to the snapper leaned forward and smacked her nearly toothless chops, spewing chewed-up leaves in your direction, "count yourself lucky that ya still got the teeth to chew that."
you dipped your head in acknowledgement and sank your teeth back into the bloody seafood.
"why are the sirens going off?" you glanced down at the small hatchling beside you and nudged him forward gently.
"lots of different reasons, but mainly danger," you admitted.
the young ridgeback flexed his still-soft spikes. "will you protect me?"
"of course." you looked over your shoulder, back in the direction that you had come from. the air still smelled faintly of smoke, and a few sirens still rang in the distance. "let's keep going. i know there are some settlements near here."
the skydancer wiggled its antenna in your direction, "so you managed to survive the recent attack and save a hatchling while you were at it?" it scuffed, "and now you want to leave said hatchling here?"
you shrugged your wings awkwardly. "yep. i can't care for a hatchling while traveling, so i was hoping to leave him here. it's safer this way too."
the skydancer scowled and peered down at the ridgeback, "we don't need another mouth to feed--" its words were cut off by the loud scream of a nearby siren. "you've brought them here!"
