______ LBang!

There it goes again. The banging at night. My was Charity angry, as the days and nights passed by, the banging seemed to grow louder and louder. Whoever was creating that noise didn't know how to understand how disturbing it was. For days on end she'd been wanting to figure out who on earth was making all the noise, but alas, she was far too busy for that.

The Mirror dragon lifted her head, gazing outside, watching the moon. It would've been a beautiful sight, if only the stupid banging would stop.

She crawled out of her den, shaking off the dust that clung to her skin. Flicking her tail from side to side, she made her way outside, growling the whole time.

"Time to find out who's making all that racket!" She exclaimed, listening for the sounds and following it.

Eventually, she made her way towards the sound, spotting the dragon that was making all of the noise. A Fae. Black and white, busy whizzing through and fro from the inside of a cave ( stuck to the side of a mountain ) to the outside, carrying stuff out and bringing stuff in. He held a few small tools at times, banging his little hammer, putting up planks and making the abandoned den cozier than ever.

For such a tiny dragon, he certainly knew how to make progress.

With a huff, she marched towards the smaller dragon, slowly creeping up form behind. Charity felt like she better teach this guy a lesson. He had no right to disturb her and her sleep!

"Mi-" she started, but was cut off by the smaller dragon.

"Don't even say a word, I know you're there . . . whoever you are." Hades muttered, not looking up from his work, too focused in it that he didn't bother to look who was talking. "I'm sorry if I've been disturbing you, many have come to complain already, but as you can see I'm busy right now. I've got work to do, I've got stuff to finish, I must go go go!"

Charity rolled her eyes at his eagerness, huffing.

"Well, Mister Fix-It, what exactly is this super important thing that's got you waking me up at night, eh?" She demanded, smashing her thick tail to the ground.

Hades turned around, grinning at her.

"A lair my lady, I'm going to start a lair."
=====================
A Gift

Charity trotted around in a circle, her claws trampling the fresh bedding she placed on the ground. What to do? What to do? The new dragons were already welcomed into the clan, yet she couldn't bring it to herself to welcome them. Charity found no fault in the two, they were really quiet, nice and tidy, polite. What was there not to love?

That was what the Mirror hated about them.

They were too good.

Charity grew up knowing the world wasn't perfect. How can this couple act so happy (especially the female) and content? Wasn't there anything in the world that could provoke them? Nothing, nothing at all?

One day, while she was off catching food for the stock pile, she ran into the blue Imperial. Towering over her, casting a dark shadow over her body. The brown and green Mirror looked up, shooting daggers into the pink eyes of Glaskiret.

"What do you want!" She barked, making it sound more like a command than a question.

Glaskiret was the silent statue of the young lair, he didn't speak as much as his mate. But he would insert a crafty joke or two here and there. Charity didn't really care about him, she was more interested in the overly cheerful and kind Ayame.

He smiled at her, his large, thick tail swishing around from behind. "Is it not okay for me to be out here? Trying to help you snatch some food?" He said calmly.

Charity calmed down, her claws drumming on the ground in annoyance.

"Fine," she mumbled, running off towards the edge of the smokey forest, she rumaged through the ground, hoping to find something to gobble up or take home. She wasn't sure to help, he liked doing everything solo style. Her way is best way. Well, that's what Charity thought.

She dug on the ground, uprooting ashy plants. She climbed half dead trees to gather as much birds, insects or meat she could. She chased down any mouse or vole that got through her. Charity might not be the best clan-mate, but the girl could sure hunt. In the end, Glaskiret actually did do some help. He carried everything she caught. Which wasn't hard because of his size. By the time she got home with the large dragon in tow, the food pile was so large that the four dragons could stuff themselves for days.

Charity piled up all the prey onto the mound, a proud smile forming on her lips.

"That was a successful raid," she said with a laugh. "Hades is going to be so proud." With that, she started to leave, going off to the corner of the cave where she usually sat or slept on.

"Wait!" The silent giant called out for her, catching her attention.

Charity whipped her head around, glaring at him. "What?" She demanded.

"Miss Charity, come over here please." Glaskiret said, already sitting down in front of the lair.

With a sigh, she dragged her lazy body out, giving him glares and shooting out curses. What now? Hadn't she done enough? Wasn't her hunting enough to please these dragons?

"I'm not sure what Ayame and I are doing to make you angry and irritated, but whatever it is I hope you know that we don't mean it." He paused, looking down at his large feet. "Here, my mate wanted to give this to you. She says it as a peace offering. She wants to get to know you more." He dropped a simple dark necklace in front of her.

It was carefully crafted and shaped. It was nothing amazing or fancy, but Charity loved it. She didn't receive much gifts. And it would be a lie if she told anyone that she didn't like recieving gifts.

"W-why thank you!" She exclaimed, pushing her head through the neckhole, she smiled. "It fits perfectly! Thank you!"

With that, the Mirror left Glaskiret with smiles and laughs.
=====================
Drastic Changes
Charity was getting restless about how looks. No matter what she did, she felt like she didn't look good enough. Especially with the coming of the clan's tailor, the coatl named Rodelle. Oh, how Charity despised the cream colored lady. Strutting around with just a simple coat and some rings brimming her wings, she was a stunning girl. A bit younger than Charity, and melded youthful and boastful. This coatl acted like she owned the clan, like she was the boss. Oh, but Charity hated that attitude of hers. So cocky and so sure of herself.

The mirror growled, claws placed upon each other as she sat in one of the clan's dens. The clan had already grown larger since then, more dragons came and went and she saw her mate look happier as more people willingly went to him to train the youth for the Flamecaller.

Four orange eyes would scan through the whole clan, always the watchful mother of everyone. Whether she liked the person or not. Her thoughts shifted back to the boastful coatl, rolling her eyes at the thought. Dragons like Grendth and Ayame were far too sweet and nice to aid Charity's job in gossiping about the younger female.

The mirror a wasn't the best person out there, that she knew. She's got many flaws thar she found too time consuming to change. She stood up, shook her pelt and walked straight out of the clan, the dragons around her, not even noticing.

She wore the same old black necklace that Glaskiret the imperial gave her, all those moons ago. She had changed over the months building and shaping the clan. A dark green piece of cloth was used to wrap around her face, her brown skin had formed an olive glow around them. The clan's head female wanted change, already sick of her appearance. She wasn't the prettiest of ladies, Charity knew that well enough, but she'd like to try and pretty herself up a little more. For presentation's sake. After all, Hades decked himself in some fine clothes these days, why couldn't she?
mind was made up.

So she trotted away from the clan, already knowing the path of the Ashfall Waste very well. She wouldn't get lost. The female mirror heard of rumors that there was some old hermit that could help change appearances, so she'd set out to find him.

It took a little longer than she'd expect. Three days, searching around the hot area she had come accustomed to, till Charity had found the man. An old Pearlcatcher who's hair as already turning white on the ends and who's scales sagged like wrinkles. She grinned, knowing she found the right person. He carried a satchel around with him, pearl gingerly clutched towards his body. He was old and frail, but wisdom can be seen in his eyes.

"Sir!" She called out eagerly, sprinting over to the elder.

This caught the grey and navy Pearlcatcher's attention. He merely raised a bushy eyebrow as a response.

"I heard that you can help change appearances." The eager mirror spat out, wanting to get straight to the topic. "Can you help me?"

The Pearlcatcher scanned her, looking at her face, body, arms, wings, tail. With a huff, he nodded. He still had a few scrolls in his little bag that might do the trick. "Sit down, missy." He said in no gruff tone. Stuffing his hand inside his almost empty bag, he brought out a piece of parchment.

A poison scroll to fix the cracked skin Charity possessed.

He went back to finding another scroll for the mirror, fashioning out a piece of paper with a picture of wing on it.

A peregrine scroll to add some color upon her dull wings.

Next, he brought out two more scrolls. A scroll with a Skydancer on it and another that had the power to paint the bellies of dragons.

A Skydancer scroll to change her body completely and an underbelly scroll to bring out an unknown color that Charity never thought she'd have.

"There," he said, satisfied, looking at the newly decorated dragon. No longer a mirror, but a graceful Skydancer.

The clan's female lead looked at her claws then at her wings, finding her colors a bit too dull for such nice markings. Brown, red and blue. What a horrible sight! She demanded new colors too!

"Oh sir! By any chance can you give me some new colors too?" She pleaded, eyes adjusting, not used to only having one set to use for sight.

The elder sighed, glaring at her, waving a hand in exasperation. "Fine, fine." He fashioned out another scroll that had power to change a dragon's color. This still didn't fit to Charity's taste. Now she had a red body, orange wings and still a blue belly. No no no! She wanted something better!

The old Pearlcatcher signed yet again, bringing out his last scroll for the desperate wife. This time, she was satisfied with her change. Purple wings, purple body and still a blue belly. At least now, her colors matched. Yes, she liked this new version of herself. She thanked the old man a thousand times before flapping off, promising the man that she'd give him something in return, someday. Hopefully, she'll just be able to return the favor.

She took to the sky, happy with he new physique, wondering how others would now think of her.
