Biography
 Taranza — “To think that you made it this far... Aren’t you a persistent little thing? But even you will kneel before us...” Taranza and Sectonia were once good friends, living in the kingdom of Floralia, a series of six floating islands high in the skies of Planet Popstar. Taranza secretly possessed hidden romantic feelings for the queen, but was too nervous to confess. Instead, he sought to give her a gift to show her his devotion: a majestic, shimmering, golden mirror, which he had stolen from a mysterious, faraway land. The queen adored his gift, much to Taranza’s delight. But it wasn’t long before he began to notice some changes in his beloved Sectonia. She gazed into the mirror day and night, and began to act coldly toward him and his subjects. The once kindhearted queen slowly transformed into a vain, egotistical, power-hungry monarch, oppressing her people and seeking to gain ultimate beauty—and ultimate control. As Sectonia’s new reign of tyranny continued, she caught wind from Taranza himself that some of her subjects had secretly sought help from the supposed "hero of the Lower World". She began to fear that her rule would be in danger, and so, ordered Taranza to find and capture the hero before he could pose any threat to her regime. As desperate for Sectonia to see his love for her as ever, Taranza obliged, and quested to the kingdom of Dreamland to find the hero and bring him to the queen—and, assuming title equaled power, captured the king of Dreamland instead. However, he was thwarted in the end by the true hero, Kirby, who had pursued him throughout all Floralia. Taranza made one last, desperate plea for help to his queen... only to be betrayed by Sectonia herself, cast off like a useless husk. Heartbroken, Taranza finally saw that the gentle, caring ruler he had fallen so deeply in love with was no more, and assisted Kirby in bringing Sectonia’s tyranny to an end, granting her the eternal beauty sleep she so desired. |
